Russell Street community mock draft
Basically pick a team, and pick the player you'd pick if you were the GM.
Rules:
1. You must pick a player within a 12 hour window, if you exceed that time, the following member with the pick will be entitled to pick the player for you.
2. No trades of any kind, it just makes things complicated and unrealistic.
3. You may pick up to three different teams, depending on how many people want to participate, in an ideal world, we'll have 32 contributors.
4. Compensatory picks aren't officially set yet, so I haven't added them into this.
5. You don't need to be a draft expert of any kind, if you need any help picking players etc, use Walter football (http://walterfootball.com/draft2008P.php), just as an example, they have a decent draft database over there.
Draft order:

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
I'm in and call dibs on BALTIMORE RAVENS if we're assigning teams to posters.
My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging. -Hank Aaron

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
I'm down.
Problem is, you have to be very clear about how long people have to make a pick, etc. I'd also recommend no trades (complicates things). When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
I'm for it as long as we stick to the no trade rule. Trades and mock drafts don't ever work.

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
I'd also like to mention that members will be able to pick more than one team for obvious reasons.

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
I'd love to see this! I'm not much of a draftnik, but if you don't get enough volunteers I can take a team and do some research to make sure I make reasonable picks for them.

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
In that case I'll take the Texans.
I also plan on doing this again this year...

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
I'd hate to get the Chiefs right now considering they've been pidgeon-holed to pick that Leon Sandcastle kid.

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
If memory serves I had the Chargers last year, might as well take them again
Top priority being someone who can defend 4th and 29

Re: Russell Street community mock draft
I'm usually more of a lurker but I get really into the draft plus this sounds fun.
I'll draft for the Titans being from Nashville.
