DHS purchase of hollow points?
SO I saw this link posted on Drudge.
http://www.infowars.com/dhs-purchase...of-ammunition/
Can anyone think of why DHS would buy so much ammo? Especially Hollow Points? I mean, I know it's the government, but even they're not so stupid as to spend more on hollow points for target practice...We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. - Benjamin Franklin

Buy up the supply, making it harder for us peasants to buy the same.

Re: DHS purchase of hollow points?
Agreed.
Keep in mind this is the same Gubmint that buys $75 hammers and $400 toilet seats. I think it's more plausible that the DHS bought the rounds thinking they got a good deal.
As ASB says all the time, never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: DHS purchase of hollow points?
And stupidity is a great way to describe DHS. DHS does have some armed divisions that may or may not require hoolow points...but this smells of they got ripped off.

Anyone who has ever worked with and in the government knows this saying when it comes to budgeting: "Use it or lose it".
My guess is that DHS needed to spend some cash, figured this was an easy and available way to do so, and can now go back to budgeting committees making claims that they need the same (or bigger) because they spent all of their money from last year.
Thats the way it works. If DHS doesnt spend that money, then old Uncle Sam thinks they dont need it and allots the money elsewhere...like to the DoD.
