Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Me as well, plays bigger then he's listed and can play a variety of roles. Needs to be a little more consistent technically but this is a good place to get him coached up, he could be our Timmons/Daryl Washington type. Can cover in space, blitz the A-Gap, but also rush from outside.

I'd be ecstatic with him as a pick, he is everything we need at LB.

I'm not sure it depends on who else is on the board with him. I think he can be coached and become a good pro come season 2 or 3.
Yea at #17--running list: Beckham Jr, Dennard, Donald, Gilbert
Nay at #17--running list: Clinton-Dix, Ebron, Hageman, Jernigan, Lee, Mosley, Pryor

Cyprien and Moore would be an excellent 2nd round take. This could happen.

    Re: All Things Draft:

In general, I believe Ozzie would want a player who could come in and play right away. The guy may not have the highest ceiling, but could be plugged in from Day One. The reason I think this way is because the Ravens still have a Super Bowl contending roster. So, Oz might want someone [Minter, Cyprien, Terrance Williams, etc.] to fill a gap (ILB, WR, Oline, Safety) right away... Bc

    The entire Tony Pauline quote:

    - Sio Moore/LB/UConn continues to draw a lot of interest around the league. Teams love the fact he’s scheme diverse and offers possibilities at a number of linebacker spots. The Baltimore Ravens are one team showing great interest in Moore.

Darius Slay might be dropping due to rumored concerns about his meniscus tear in his knee. If he was there for the Ravens at the end of the 3rd round, would you take him?

    Yeppers.

The injury might hurt him long term as arthritis sets in and so he may have a relatively short career but until then, he'd be very good.

    Re: All Things Draft:

I just saw a Walterfootball mock draft and they had Keenan Allen falling to our 2nd round pick. I thought about it and while it is unlikely, it might be possible. With the injury concerns, bad 40 (due to injury), and other little things he could be passed off in favor of other capable players. If it happened it would be a total steal. The guy is football fast, can get open, make tough catches, and has underrated explosiveness. Plus, he would give us the big, tall receiver I have wanted since Demaryius Thomas in the 2010 draft

    Re: All Things Draft:

I think everyone Ozzie will end up taking a solid player at 32 - we underestimate the extent to which some teams will reach for guys when no one thought it likely (Jake Locker 8th overall? Dontari Poe 11th?) and pick players that draftnicks hadn't thought of (AJ Jenkins and Bruce Irvin spring to mind). An Arthur Brown or Alex Ogletree or Menelik Watson or Eric Reid or Matt Elam will fall, possibly enough for Ozzie to trade back into the 2nd and still pick one of them up (similar to Upshaw last year).

The more I look at this draft with my Ravens hat on, the more I love it - there's so much depth for Ozzie to work his magic with.
