Kind of a dumb signing IMO. Has he ever played in a 4-3?

Jets grant revis permission to visit Tampa bay and get a physical. Stupid move if Tampa trades for him.

It would have been really stupid to do it without the physical and visit. I have to wait and see what the real price is and how it works out before dismissing the idea of trading for Revis stupid. He is a pretty good player when healthy. There is a right price.

There's also a reason no other team is interested in Revis. Every year he wants a new payday and it never ends. I wouldn't touch him, especially given that there are some good corners in the draft.

    Saying 14-16m a year
@corryjoel: If Revis gets $14M-$16M per year, then CB will have the biggest gap between the highest paid & 2nd highest paid at a position.

@SportsCenter: BREAKING: ESPN reports: Jets & Bucs agree on deal sending All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis to TB; includes 13th overall pick. Deal pends physical.

Terrible move by the Bucs. Way too much for this guy in both draft picks and money. You can't be paying players that kind of money unless they're a QB.

Yup, stupid move. He's never played in a 4-3 and at age 35, he's now going to be their starting strongside LB and be asked to cover tight ends...good luck with that.

Good move for the jets, they need cheap talent

It looks like the Jets made out like bandits, they get a large cap number off the books (and the headache of constant holdouts) along with a Mid-1st round draft pick. They already know the Pass D will hold up without Revis.

The new Jets GM really played this smart. He ended up getting what he wanted and can start to rebuild this team through the draft. Given the terrible cap situation he inherited those extra picks are critical. Very well done
