    The FO for all teams needs to write these contracts so when production falls off they can get out from under them easier.
    It's not the size of the contracts, or the sentiment that some of the guys who "got paid" are now underperforming (due to injury, wear & tear, attitude, whatever) relative to those contracts--it's that the contracts as structured are going to throw the team in cap jail next year with no provisions for relief.

    I like Jones a lot, but like Ellerbe last year, someone is probably going to offer him more than we can afford. So it's highly doubtful that we have Ngata & Jones together next year. Williams is getting some authentic look/see vs. NFL offenses. Who we'd keep out of him, Canty, and Cody remains to be seen based on the next 8 games, who might injure what, etc. But none of them approach Ngata's impact, especially if he moves outside.
