Giiants/Dolphins @ Wembley- Balto. Sun
As early as last week I emailed the Baltimore Sun, to let them know about the UKRavens attending this match. There will be around 20 people in our group - over half of whom are UKRavens
, or US Ravens Fans
, the rest being family and friends attending this historic event.
Given that it's a Ravens bye week, you might think they'd have said something!!!
BUT NO!!
Not even a reply!!
What do those guys do all day?

Maybe if the Ravens were participating, it would be newsworthy. Just sayin'.

Maybe they're waiting until gameday to run with it, but they should have at least acknowledged the email. sheesh.

Try the Washington Post. They do cover the Ravens ... ever so slightly. As opposed to the Sun (fishwrap), the Post is a reputable paper. It doesn't have the pretty colors though (grin).

I did think of going to the Washington Post, I just thought it right to give those monkeys a first chance.
It's not like we wanted paying or anything?

Re: Giiants/Dolphins @ Wembley- Balto. Sun
I'm thrilled that you are going but who really cares that a few people from Baltimore pr Ravens fans abroad are traveling to see a game that the ravens aren't even in. You do realize the sun is in business to cover the news not peoples vacations plans. And quite honestly I hate the idea that NFL teams are going to different countries to showcase the league. I'm hoping for a poor turnout so they can kill this experiment, this way the ravens never have to host a home game outside of Baltimore. As early as last week I emailed the Baltimore Sun, to let them know about the UKRavens attending this match. I'll probably get bad reputation for this too...
Miami Dolphins Wonder If They'll Have End Zones In England
MIAMI—While preparing for their upcoming game in London against the New York Giants, the struggling Miami Dolphins spent most of the week's practices trying to answer questions concerning differences in the football itself, whether the gaps in a British line were numbered backwards, and whether or not England has end zones. "All right…I know when you cross the Atlantic that the strong side is the weak side and weak side is the strong side, so you drive down the opposite side of the field," said Dolphins quarterback Cleo Lemon, who confessed he was concerned about the team's two-minute drill since he was not sure of the length of the British minute. "But, if I'm right-handed, I don't have to throw with my left, do I? And how do we get first downs since they don't have yards over there? I knew I should have watched NFL Europe when it was still on." Lemon added that he was worried that the ball would spiral in the opposite direction in England, although the coaches had reassured him he was thinking of Australia.- Section 133 for eternity!
- I know... The family resemblance is uncanny.

Re: Giiants/Dolphins @ Wembley- Balto. Sun
On the ticket front the only concern I've got now for a full house is that scalpers (in spite of NFLUK's best efforts) were able to get hold of a number of tickets in the hope of making a profit from them. Only problem there is, people weren't willing to pay above the asking price for this game and nfluk (myself included) successfully whacked an awful lot of attempts by folks to sell their tickets on. This has resulted in a lot of tickets flooding the market in the last few days at face value and below as folks realise they can't get rid of the tickets. I just hope we don't have a 1,000 or two no shows due to scalpers not being able to off load their tickets.
Also for anyone that watches the game, please don't be perturbed by the seats on halfway in the lower bowl not filling immediately for the start of the game or after half time. This is our wine and cheese/corporate sections and they don't even come out quickly for the bigger football (read - soccer) games so I can imagine there being a lot of empty seats at the start of each half as people finish their prawn sandwiches and champagne before slowly sauntering to their seats. The seating plan was though out very poorly as the seats that fill the slowest are front and centre to the TV cameras, giving a very poor visual effect to the number of people in the stadium.

Re: Giiants/Dolphins @ Wembley- Balto. Sun
I just found out my dad's going on Sunday. He's been invited by Las Vegas Tourism, so will be sitting in aforementioned wine 'n cheese section. He doesn't know too much about the sport, so I told him to support the Giants and impress people by saying things like "Eli and Plax are striking up quite a tandem" and "I don't care what people say, Shockey is a top 5 tight end". I'm doubting, coupled with the intake of the free booze he's getting, that he'll remember any of that.
