Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
Never thought I'd say this, but it has to be McNair hands down.
I've never seen a guy turn the ball over at this consistant pace that McNair is.
8 TO's, 2 TD passes?
This is unreal.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
I hate this type of thread typically, but I will play along. McNair at this point is far worse than Grbac was.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
If we are going with 2007/2008 McNair vs Grbac it's not even a question. This McNair is alot worse.Grbac didn't have a good running game. But at least Grbac could throw an INT way down the field that could serve as a punt.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
We won a road playoff game with Grbac.
He had Brookins/Allen as RBs along with terrible WRs.
Today was beyond anything I can comprehend.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
Thinking about Grbac after just watching McNairs performance almost got too much and made me chuck my dinner up.
Grbac deer in the headlights, run to the hills attitude.
Over McNair throw your body against a brick wall to get a win.
But looking like he has thrown himself against a brick wall 100 times
when he hits the field.
I'll take McNairs 13-3 over Grbac's 10-6 even though Grbac had Allen at RB.
And just claim amnesia on McNair this season.[For my own sanity's sake].Last edited by RavenTD; 11-11-2007 at 07:32 PM.
Put the smile back on your face. This is a 60 minute ball game.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
It's not even close. Honestly, when I think about the clunkers we've had playing QB in Baltimore: Mitchell, Case, Wright --- McNair fits right into that group. Had any of them had had back-to-back performances as bad as McNair's last two games? I don't think so.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T
came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

You have to add in the first Cincy game.
Those were just 3 of the worst games I've ever seen a QB have.

2006 Mcnair was great
2007 McNair may be the worst qbing our franchise has seen (and as we all know...)Baltimore Ravens, 2012 NFL Champions!

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
Sorry -- I don't buy it. The 2006 Defense was great, not McNair. How many games did he win with his arm in 2006? (And, please, let's not count the two 4th Q comeback games that had us in a hole due to his sucky play for 3 1/3 Qs).
In 2006 McNair was just average until the Buffalo game. He has been somewhere between mediocre to downright horrible since. In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T
came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
Mcnair.
He's been a turnover machine. And, we didn't have a real o-line here when Grbac played. Maybe he could have worked out.
The tools are here for McNair. We can all say play calling, but you think theres a different play being called when Boller connects with clayton 47 yards deep or is it just McNair is washed up?
Its sad to see a player like McNair's fall from grace.
Its like seeing Johnny Unitas as a Charger.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
It's not close -- Grbac may have been a jerk but at least he could play. I'm amazed that McNair could miss two or three games and still lead the league in fumbles. He's simply done.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
Great question, good debate.
IMO, Grbac wasn't bad at all. In fact, didn't he throw for over 3500 yards? If Jamal was playing that year, maybe we don't repeat, but we probably beat the Steelers at home that day, and we probably have 2 - 3 more wins too.
For some reason, people hated Elvis, but when you really think about it, he wasn't the real problem that year. It was the running game, Kip Vickers can't block, and Shannon Sharpe cut the locker room in half.

Re: Who's worse...McNair or Grbac?
If Grbac would have had Jamal, instead of losing him to injury during camp, or McGahee as his RB vs Terry Allen or James Brookins he had, + had the WR's we have now vs. what he had, the Ravens would not have gone out in the divisional playoff game against Pissburgh & probably wouldn't lost vs. the Colts last year. Very simple, with the weapons McNair has vs. what he was stuck with, Grbac would have been the better QB.
