Nope, but look on the bright side...you can go up to groups of Raider fans and say "Bollocks you wankers" without having to worry about hospital bills.

Unless one or more is a UK Raider

Damn CY, your post was magic, simply magic. I've seen one pre-season game, looked at some film from previous years...looked at my wonderful tickets and parking passes....and still was not juiced up quite the way I wanted to be.

Then I read your post and now I am ready! Is it game day yet?

I'm looking forward to them ribs. I think I'll bring some pre-made beef kabobs.
I bought them at wal-mart a few weeks back and cooked 'em on the barbie and they were great. So, I'll buy a couple of boxes of 'em and bring 'em with me.

Well as Villa fans, you probably know what it is like to be Browns fans

That last FA Cup was when? In the 50s?

Just as a reminder. I hope you all hit the scales and gave Camden plenty of + reputation for that post to end all posts.

One other thing I thought of that CamdenYard left out.

Can't guarantee it, but usually the Air National Guard does a fly over at the end of the national anthem with 4 fighter jets at the opening home game of the season.

Can't speak for everybody, but I usually have the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when they do it.

Yeah, for opening day you need to hit the seats about 12:45 instead of 12:57 like usual. I enjoy the whole thing.

Yup. A-10s from the Maryland Air National Guard at Martins. Each of them has a Ravens insignia on the fuselage just below the front-most part of the cockpit. This was the only pic I could find but it's there

    Camden,
WOW, i made the mistake of reading that at 11:50pm. I am now pumped up and wide awake and ready for gameday. I have to go to bed now and try to sleep.
When I do get to sleep I will dream about that probably lol

A-10 Tank Busters eh? Nice to have a fly over, but surely you could get some more attractive planes to do it

BTW, anyone notice during preseason that 'Anthem Dude' has obviously been told to speed it up. No more Boyz 2 Men version of The Star Spangled Banner

It was much better. Are you Brits cool with that song? I mean it does commemorate your ass kicking in the Baltimore harbour (English spelling) and also the Battle of North Point.

Up at 7AM get in all my Ravens gear for the game. Get breakfast at Mickey D's. Go to the bar where my bus meets have a couple of beers. When we arrive at the tailgate eat and drink A LOT. Then around 1 1/2 hours before the game start to put on my 45 lbs. of beads. I then head for my seat in section 138 Row 6. I like to get in the stadium in time to see our Ravens warm up for the game. When the real game starts the war begins. God only one more week to wait.

The A10 Thunderbolt is one of my fav planes,it looks like it takes no prisoners,
its not to be messed with. The Raven logo just makes it look sweeter. The flyover will be cool, especially when the jets vibrate your ribcage.

I've heard the Star Spangled Banner probably 10,000 times more than our own national anthem. And it still stirs my heart strings. Thanks to that poem from Baltimore.

    Ours isn't to shabby though.

    God save our gracious Queen,
    Long live our noble Queen,
    God save The Queen.
    Send her victorious,
    Happy and glorious,
    Long to reign over us:
    God save The Queen.

    O Lord our God, arise,
    Scatter our enemies,
    And make them fall;
    Confound their politics,
    Frustrate their knavish tricks;
On thee our hopes we fix:
    God save us all.

    Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour,
    Long may she reign.
    May she defend our laws,
    And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice,
    God save The Queen.

    Not in this land alone,
    But be God's mercies known,
    From shore to shore!
    Lord make the nations see,
    That men should brothers be,
    And form one family,
    The wide world over.

    From every latent foe,
    From the assassins blow,
    God save the Queen!
    O'er her thine arm extend,
    For Britain's sake defend,
    Our mother, prince, and friend,
    God save the Queen!

Greg,we are well over that ass kicking.I even threw my Redcoat away in the trash last week.

    TD,

If you like the song maybe you should make a quick stop at Ft. McHenry. It is practically right around the corner from the stadium.

If I had more time, and was by myself or with the wife.I'd probably checkout the American Civil War sites. As I have just read up on it.

I don't know if I was an American in a former life,if there is such a thing.
But I have always had something inside me pulling me towards your great country.Even when I was a 5 year old kid,and I got got on a bus with my Mum.After 10 minutes drive around London,I asked my Mum if we were in America yet?

Why I said this I don't know, because I had no TV to watch in those days. And no real brains knocking around in my head either. But that has stuck with me 35 years later.

I think Camden's reference is a Colonial war one - that's the one after the Independence war. The Colonial war was the one where we (Brits) burned Washington to the ground - but could not get passed American guns into Baltimore's harbour.

    History buffs will advise?

Yeah I knew what Camden was on about.I was adding I would also like to checkout Gettysburg and other Civil War sites.I am more interested in that than the War of Independence.
