WOW! I thought the Harbaugh thing may have just been a smokescreen again until they got their shit together. I think I'd be happy with him or Marty.

no to rain on the parade, but they've been running that on their "Breaking News" ticker since probably noon...I think he was just discussing the opportunity, and I think the hire, if it is him, won't come today.
Later blogs on that site from Drew Forrester said he was going home because SB left at 1:30

Re: WNST reporting Harbaugh negotiating with Ravens to become Head Coach
Like I said, sorry to rain on the parade...there is another WNST guy onsite who says Harbaugh is still there, so who knows what is going on. Maybe SB will be coming back with some "legal papers" or "a key to John's new apartment/townhome"...
But, it could also be that SB is letting his subordinates finish the interview and making a decision later.

also, just saw they changed their scroller to "John Harbaugh is in Owings Mills and is talking to the Ravens..."
backpedaling?

Backpedaling - maybe. They will call it clarifying.

Maybe it was just a poor choice of words on their part -- "negotiating with the Ravens" and "talking to the Ravens" are two different things.

Re: WNST reporting Harbaugh negotiating with Ravens to become Head Coach
we should know in due time...SB returned to the facility around 4, and I'm sure they'll need to let Harbaugh go home soon.
I just hope he's been there so long because they like him and they're starting to cover some fundamental ideas like "How much would you take the HC job for?" and "Who would you hire as assistants?"

The Baltimore Sun has this update:
Bisciotti returns
Almost 2 1/2 hours after leaving the team's headquarters in Owings Mills, owner Steve Bisciotti returned at 3:52 p.m. today. Don't know what that means for Philadelphia Eagles secondary coach John Harbaugh, who has been here since 9 a.m. Stay tuned.

Re: WNST reporting Harbaugh negotiating with Ravens to become Head Coach
My gut is telling me we won't have a PC today...but seriously, to be meeting with the guy for nearly 8 hours straight? It's not like we're sitting there going "Ok, this isn't the guy...we'll just wait until he stops talking".
I think this is a sign that he's interviewing really well a second time. Whether that equals a HC announcement today, or just becoming the front runner until the next interview, remains to be seen.
Adding fuel to the fire, WNST reports that SB came back in business attire, which is not what he had on when he left...Ravens, please don't do this to us TWICE in one week! Please don't tease us with a long interview, SB coming back in dressy attire, and then just say "it was a fun day talking with John...Next interview?"Last edited by RavenScallywag; 01-18-2008 at 03:44 PM.

Re: WNST reporting Harbaugh negotiating with Ravens to become Head Coach
I got a real hard time believing this dude has been there for damn near 8 hours today and ain't leaving with this job.
Press conference or not, something has to be going on there with this cat.
Hell, the way our FO is as of late they might not want to hold some big to do press conference on the spur of the moment.
Maybe they want to get their on TV act together so they look a little more comfortable.
Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick.......

as much as it drives me crazy, I am glad we've had no leaking from the FO today...this way, if there is a hiccup...all we know is we talked to him for awhile and parted amicably. I want to know something by the end of the day, but I think the FO and media were being a LOT more cautious with this interview.
