Ocho Cinco a Raven?
If you get the chance, try and watch NFL Total Access before noon. Chad Johnson was at pro-bowl practice wearing a Ravens hat.
Rich made a comment that "might be a sign of things to come", which Marshall responded "Oh, its closer then you think".
IMO, I hope this is just Chad being Chad and I DO NOT want him on our team. IF for some reason he does make it, this fan will boo the hell out of him the second he starts with those TD antics.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
Chad Johnson has mentioned or made some kind of gesture to link himself with EVERY team in the NFL other than Cincy....
#1 - It ain't happening, Cincy isn't going to trade him
#2 - No way our new coaching staff is going to want to take on that kind of head case...I would've been okay with him until this offseason...His behavior makes him look like a friggin baby. He's trying to play EVERYONE off the Bengals, it's getting annoying..

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
That's only a slight exaggeration -- he's talked about the possibility of joining the Raiders, the Panthers, and a couple of other teams. The guy is talented but he's a head case and not worth the trouble. And the fact that he's been openly campaigning to be traded to a number of teams makes him look like a total asshat.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
I haven't kept count, but it's definitley about 7-8 teams so far, if you include the Ravens.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
Isn't it some kind of "thing" at the Pro Bowl for players to wear other teams hats - hats of the teams of their friends or something? Chad has a lot of friends on the Ravens. I also seem to remember Reed wearing some other team's hat once and taking a lot of shit for it on the message boards.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
Reed wore Peyton Manning's helmet at Pro Bowl practice...I guess it's easier to read something into it because of the way Chad has been trying to get another team to trade for him.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
On another board, it was mentioned that perhaps Chad was wearing a Ravens hat because Willis McGahee won the Madden Bowl and that was part of a bet.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
Bill Belichick is on record as saying Chad Johnson is one of his absolute favorite players in the league. You know, the guy that's won three Super Bowls and most regard as one of the best coaches in league history.
So a guy with three rings on his fingers, who has captained the best franchise in football over the last decade, considers Chad Johnson a guy that (and I'll quote Michelle Tafoya quoting Belichick) "could play for my team any day".
And yet fans of a team that is perennially offensively inept would turn Chad Johnson away and boo him if he came here and danced after scoring a touchdown, which he rarely if ever has been penalized for?
The antics are meaningless. Chad is harmless. And on the field he's one HELL of a hard-working, ultra-productive football player. One that has a lot of fun playing the GAME of football. If I had to choose between Chad Johnson and Terrell Suggs, it would take me about two seconds to throw on my purple Ocho Cinco jersey.
That's me though. And the Bengals won't trade Chad Johnson to the Ravens when there is a line of 20 teams outside of the AFC North fighting for him probably willing to offer a great deal more than the Ravens will be. He won't be in Baltimore. But I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
TEP, with all due respect, it has nothing to do with scoring TD's, his talent or the occasional antics he displays on the field.
He is a locker room cancer and disrespectful to the game in general. Any endorsement from Belichick seals the deal for me. It has nothing to do with what he may or may not bring to a team on the field. It's lack of respect for other players and coaches that is the bigger picture.
There comes a point where the talent is not as important as doing the right and respectful thing for the sake of the game. People like TO, Chad Johnson, Jeremy Shockey, etc make a mockery of the game and whatever team they are on, knocks the team down the ladder when it comes to class and respect. If Chad spent as much time honing his craft and trying to build relationships with his team as he does making up new TD celebrations, he would be even better then he is today.
I'm tired of the individualism in sports today. I expect more from my beloved team to not sign players who are more concerned for their individual stats then making their team better.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
It was funny how Ed wore that helmet, couldn't hardly see out of it, the front rode down on him. Peyton's head is just too damn big!

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
I still don't understand why he did it. Peyton was interviewed and made some crack about wanting to see what the perspective was out of Peyton's helmet and how he could see DBs like Ed Reed real clearly with it, then throwing in a real nice comment on how Ed Reed is unique like that.
I guess he was just trying to be funny and have fun. He seemed like he was joking around a lot more than the people around him. Glad to see him having a blast, reminds me that, while on Sundays we're mortal enemies with other teams, at the end of the day, we've got one very big thing in common with each other...love of this beautiful game of pigskin.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
I would have no problem with Chad coming here. He has been unhappy in Cincy for a long time. I also remember Randy Moss being called a cancer. Players can change, I'm not saying he would, just that they can. I'm all about getting maybe the best WR in the league here. Who cares about his TD celebrations, this is a game you are supposed to have fun, we need a guy who can make plays every down.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
Some of you people would sell your soul to the devil if he was a good football player. Thank goodness the Ravens consider good character in every player they acquire. I don't like CJ's antics, especially the "Hall of Fame" jacket he wore when the Ravens played in Cincy. I want a football player to act like a man, not a child, and keep his mouth shut about the coach and the players on the team. Just go do your business and be quiet.

Re: Ocho Cinco a Raven?
Meh. Chances are low.
I suppose I might have an extremely short list of people who I would boo even if they were Ravens.
But we are fans. The players and staff come and go.
