GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
Hi guys,
Sorry I'm late - been busy all day. We're down 17-7 to the Vikings, mainly because Walker and Ivy have been useless.
Troy looks pretty good though, and Ray Rice is dominating. GO RAVENS!!

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
1st, from the 36, give to Rice for 3 up the middle.
2nd and 7, WOW. Troy eludes 2 sackers, and Troy makes some STELLAR moves to scramble for 18 and into Vikes territory! Unbelievable moves.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
1st from the 42, give to Rice, swallowed up, gain of 1.
2nd and 9, 4 wide, Smith is sacked back at the Ravens 45. Ouch. Allen just bulled Slaughter back. Wasn't ready for it.
3rd and 21, TO taken.

1st and 10, holding on a miscued play.
1st and 20, incomplete pass for Bollinger.
2nd, dropped pass for Dugan.
Minnesota takes a TO. 2:01 left.

3rd and 20, draw to Hicks, eaten up by Barnes. Punt team coming on - Troy gets a 2 minute drill.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
I'm here.
Getting a refresher on what crappy defense looks like. I don't like what I see.
(note - "Read" should be viewed as the past tense here, not the imperative.)

Figurs gets to midfield, but the Ravens jumped offside. Rekick.
Gets them to the 40 after the rekick.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
1st, shotgun, pass thrown slightly behind Clayton, tipped up and into Sharper's hands, returned to the 25. Honestly, catchable ball though, it was in his arms. Coulda been thrown better.
Troy gets hit for a low block personal foul? Weak call.

Kick is good for the Vikes, 20-7. Halftime.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
Hey guys. I'm here. I decided to stay home tonight. Man I am glad I did.
Sephy that was a horribly thrown ball. I watched it again. he threw it behind Clayton, who had to almost turn around.
He can definately run. But we need someone who can run and throw. The dude just can't throw consistently. Starting to remind me of Michael Vick. You can't run an offensive with 5 pass attempts the whole half.
And once again, our offensive line SUCKS!!!

Who's #76? Interesting look with the shaved scalp and long beard - makes him look like a Knight Templar.
Probably doesn't smell like one, however - part of their code was to never bathe. Couple that with living your life fighting in the desert, and ... ick.
Sorry for the randomness.

BTW Seph - NBC was at the stadium earlier, filming a video postcard for Michael Phelps in Beijing. Kinda weird to hear the fans going berserk while the Vikings successfully kicked a FG.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
I only saw bits and pieces of the first half, but Smith played the whole half and only threw five passes? It looked to me like the Vikings held the ball a lot, but even so, five passes? I was hoping to get a better look at him than that, because I already know he can run. He might even be a little too eager to run, although the pass protection might have something to do with that, as in last weeks game.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
Head Coach John Harbaugh
On if the Ravens are a better football team now than when they started camp: “Oh yes, we’re a better football team. How much better is yet to be determined, but we’re getting better out there.”
-10 maybe? -20? Just think of how bad they must have been going into camp.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
1st, give to Rice, gain of 6. Kid is good.
2nd and 4, complete to McClain, to the 34. Penalty on Rice for a chop block. Announcers and myself think its a bad call.
2nd and 17, screen to Rice, loses 1 or 2. Offense isn't built for this.
3rd, checkdown to Rice, gets 10 and they will punt.

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Vikes (Preseason)
Highwater - with both starting OTs out, they've been hesitant to put Troy in a life-threatening situation on a regular basis. Frequently, when he has gone back to pass, he's either had to scramble or get sacked.
