OT: MMA - Kimbo to fight Shamrock

Ken Shamrock needs to chill before he ruins any shred of legacy that might still exist from the early days of MMA. The whole Tito show just about ruined him but now Kimbo? Whose next? Stallone?

Totally agreed.

Ken is a God in MMA circles but he has last his last 5 fights. He is trying to hold on to past glory and he's risking his life in doing so.

This is why I dont watch Elite XC.

They are putting people in harms way trying to compete with the UFC.

I believe the winner of this fight will go on to fight Tyson, and the winner of that fight takes on an ill-tempered Grizzly Bear.

Shouldn't a state athletic commission rule that Shamrock can't fight?? Like Holyfield.

this is a joke...shamrock has been knocked out in 6 of his last 7 fights and hasn't won a fight in over 4 years....he's just a name to draw the "casual" mma fans...

kimbo should be fighting brett rogers, yet elite xc is saying that rogers will get the winner of this fight..

Instead of fighting Kimbo, Shamrock should be training the guy in submissions and ground fighting, an area Mr. Slice is sorely deficient in.

I dont think the athletic commissions will get in the way -- but they need to.

I do think Frank can win, but at what cost? If you've heard any recent interviews, he sounds more like Ali with each passing year. He is one solid punch away from a wheel chair.

I believe you mean Ken. Frank Shamrock would break Kimbo's arm in 10 seconds, and EliteXC would go broke 4 days later.

I agree that Ken should just retire. That being said, Kimbo almost got beat on the Saturday night Elite show by a guy who isn't that good. As long as Ken can shooting in, take Kimbo down and not get hit, I think Ken can easily get a submission on Kimbo.

Unfortunately, Ken hasn't been able to effectively dodge punches for a long time. Kimbo has preternatural strength and power, especially in his upper body.

I'm praying that Shamrock isn't hurt too badly, if at all.
