Re: Ravens Game Rescheduled
This actually works for me. I couldn't watch the game sunday because of a band gig. Now I can actually see it!

Re: Ravens Game Rescheduled
They should have just played the game here! I am leaving for Denver Monday morning. I better be able to find a place out there to watch it or the NFL is in trouble with me.

Re: Ravens Game Rescheduled
I still think they are taking a chance by playing in Houston on Monday night. Even if they have their own power set up, there could be damage to the stadium & will there be any1 in town to see it. Also, who knows if they'll be able to open either of their airports back up Sunday. Watching the Houston ABC affiliate & the latest reports on the hurricane, they don't need to play this game in Houston. There will be more important things to be doing in that area other than an NFL game. That's why I suggested New Orleans, about 350 miles to the east. They are playing the deadskins down the road Sunday, so the Super Dome is open. Makes more sense then Atlanta. The safest option for everyone & they can play either Sunday or Monday.

Re: Ravens Game Rescheduled
Again, that decision has nothing to do with the storm itself. The storm effected the travel of the team.
The time on which the game will be played will come down to power and flooding. Cat 2 is almost routine here and Houston sits 75 miles inland. Even it gets up to a Cat 3, the winds inland wont be high enough to create any significant damage to the stadium.
Friends and family in B'more keep calling and saying the news reports there are saying "Houston is being evacuated", making it sound like 4 Million folks are on their way out. This is partially true but as extreme as it sounds.
The south east side of Houston, the low-laying parts near Galveston Bay is being evacuated but that's it. Houston is a HUGE city in both population and land mass. The areas being evacuated wont effect the area near the stadium or the surrounding areas.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: Ravens Game Rescheduled
They aren't gonna play this game in Houston if things are bad. They'd rather play it there if possible. But clearly this is a move to allow them to assess the viability of keeping the game in Houston. They'll be able to know by Sunday whether or not they can park the game there Monday night, or if they'll need to move it.
