The Rain In Spain Mainly Falling on McCain

I woke up this morning to a slew of emails from ex-pat friends still living in latin american countries as well as some of the local folks down there. I didn't see this last night but it is the buzz throughout Central and South American countries

Evidently, Mccain was being interviewed about Chavez and Raul Castro on a what I believe was through spanish media. He was then asked about Zapatero, the Spanish Prime Minister and Mccain replied in a way that seemed to indicate that he thought Zapatero was another rogue dictator for some developing nation. The interviewer I guess saw the gaffe and tried to redirect Mccain but the ol' maverick kept up his talk of intolerance and enemies of americans etc.. etc. etc..

Now my Latin American friends absolutely despise conservative leadership in the U.S. so I always take their bias to heart but please tell me Mccain didn't say this. There is a little bit purculating on the progressive blogs but not enough to believe it just yet. The spanish news media is covering it
and they seem to think the worse of Mccain.

Seriously this is why progressives will jump from bridges this fall if Mccain wins. We are tired of being seen as a nation of really...really stooopid people thanks to the Dubious one. Another four years of the Palin/Mccain ticket could possibly make 8 years of bush look like the Renaissance. Don't people see this...I mean really???

Here is a spanish link if anyone speaks spanish:

Generally it is saying that Mccain wouldn't really answer if he would invite Zapatero to the White House or not. He goes onto to say that he will seek to establish narrower relationships with those whose would like to hurt the U.S. Clearly either the guy isn't paying attention, doesn't know where Spain is or is going senile.

Unreal. We will have to watch the developments today. Honestly I hope it is all a misunderstanding. To have an american presidential candidate create such a gaffe in the international press really does me more disparage then create more hope for me and an Obama win.

Ironically this comes out at a time when Obama put out another hardhitting ad to the hispanic population in swing states.

pretty clear that the Mav wasn't so lucid as to what was being asked of him.

I will take that as I am not losing it too quickly...in fact if I compare my "losing it" to my DEMs, I look like I am actually "gaining it" and gaining it rather quickly. I will take that as a compliment Trap...You must be a good guy after all.

Here's a hint for you... listen and read something more than Rush. It would be like me quoting Michael Moore in every post.
