Re: I come in peace..
As much as I loved the Baltimore Colts, sports teams move and I'm afraid that the National Football League is every bit as guilty of denying heritage as anyone. All one has to do is peruse the NFL Hall of Fame website (http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/teams.jsp) and see that. They have Hall of Famers listed by franchise, where the Arizona Cardinals and their parentage (Chicago Cardinals, St. Louis Cardinals) are lumped together, Likewise the Rams (Cleveland Rams, LA Rams, St. Louis Rams), among others. I'm sure LA Rams fans get pissed that Deacon Jones is listed under the St. Louis flag. And the NFL isn't alone in this; I'm sure their are people that are upset that Jackie Robinson is under the LA Dodgers tree in Cooperstown.
As much as it hurts, that's the reality. The NFL nor anyone who wasn't here do not understand how much our Colts were a fabric of our life, not just a football team, but one of us..
.
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarrely inexplicable…
There is another theory which states that this - has - already - happened…

Re: I come in peace..
Is there ANYTHING in my post that blames our anger on Peyton? Can you read? I said that Peyton understands this much more, obviously , than YOU do! I simply stated that Peyton's accomplishments cannot ever eclipse Johnny U's no matter what the stats say!!!! Unitas was nearly single-handedly responsible for changing the game from a running game to a passing game!!! Look it up!!!!
If your comprehension skills are not adequate to read and understand what you have read, stay home!!!

Oh, btw, Peyton IS a BIG whiner!!! when he throws a pick, he whines louder 'n longer than a baby! ... and if you watched the chiefs game, you would be a liar not to agree!!!
And another btw... learn to spell! Hoosier teacher? Norm Crosby?Last edited by Rochardrik; 01-11-2007 at 09:43 AM.

Re: I come in peace..
Jim Irsay is nothing like his father. I'm not saying that they wont move one day. The NFL is a business. But Indianapolis Fans are inteligent enough to understand that, and though it might be dificult, we would not cry and complain for the next 23 years.
Besides, you guys have a great organazation to cheer for so just let it go!

Re: I come in peace..
Then he should've helped us get an expansion team, like his father promised. Instead he complained about "instability in the league" when the Browns moved here.Jim Irsay is nothing like his father.
If you claim you would still root for the Colts if they ever left Indianapolis, you have pitiful civic pride, and you root only for a logo and not for what it means to your hometown.

Jim Irsay owns some really nice guitars..............
Having said that, he's a Qusiling fuck who wants to paint his own clown face.

Re: I come in peace..
To Just10Rich,
We are the lucky ones. We now have a wonderful, local owner who knows what's its like to lose a team. He was only 23 when the Colts left town.
I am glad you realize that the second Mr. Irsay, Jr. doesn't get his way with your fans, the Mayflowers will be at your front door. There is an old saying "History Repeats Itself" or "He's a Chip off the old block." Then all of you will be singing "Who's Sorry Now?"

Re: I come in peace..
I think you'd agree with me when I wish both teams good luck and no injuries.[/QUOTE]
You are utterly mistaken, Indy fan.
This is the revenge scenario we have dreamed of for two decades. We love our Ravens, just as we used to love the Colts, but we have not gotten over the move. We do no forgive Indianapolis. Get over it? Fat chance.
We wish you bad luck and we want to see a prostate Manning lying dazed and bleeding on our blessed turf with several fierce looking Ravens glaring down at him. We want to hurt and humiliate the team and town that defiled our proud past and broke our hearts.
You do not want to be an Indy fan in Baltimore should the unthinkable happen...

Re: I come in peace..
Not a spokesman for all Ravens fans? Thanks for the reminder.
I used the first person plural pronoun because I wanted to underscore that there are a lot of Baltimore fans who hold a grudge and aren't interested in absolving Indianapolis and Irsay for what they did to the Colts.
I suppose those who object to my ill wishes for Manning were also offended by what the Ravens did to Roethlisberger?
I don't want the man killed, just knocked down hard and often.
Football is a contact sport, remember?

Re: I come in peace..
I think it was the word "bleeding" that caught some people's eyes. I know it's what caught mine. Certainly sacking him 9 times and watching Bart Scott toss him like a playground toy would be nice.

Re: I come in peace..
I do wish Baltimore fans would stop feeling bad about our history being stolen. No one can "steal" history. All the fake "Colts" have are some trinkets to remind them of what they don't have: championships. I'm confident that we will add another this year in Baltimore.
Manning better than Unitas? Where to begin?
Here's a thought: Did anyone ever call Unitas soft?
