Best Available still on the board......

    Projected 2nd Round

    Michael Johnson DE
    D.J. Moore CB
    Duke Robinson G
    Jarron Gilbert 3-4 DE
    Jared Cook TE
    Jamon Meredith OT
    Shawn Nelson TE
    Chase Coffman TE
    Juaquin Iglesias WR

    Projected 3rd round

    James Casey TE
    Victor Harris CB
    Darry Beckwith ILB
    Lawrence Sidbury 4-3 DE
    Jonathan Luigs C
    Mike Mickens CB
    Derrick Williams WR
    Kraig Urbik G
    Louis Murphy WR
    Troy Kropug OT
    Andre Brown RB
    Asher Allen CB
    Cornelis Ingram TE
    Rashad Jennings RB
    Nate Davis QB
    Mike Thomas WR
    Alex Magee 4-3 DT
    Antoine Caldwell C
    Gerald McGrath ILB

Keep an eye out for Luigs or Caldwell at center, or a TE where there are tremendous values still out there in the next 2 picks for the Ravens.

Gilbert would be a shocker to still be there,I was screaming for him in the second. Then again,if he is there something is obviously up that the scouts dont like about him.

That could change in the next 24 picks though but thats where I would put my money right now.

Don't look for Gilbert or Michael Johnson no matter how far they fall...they both seem to have big motor problems and the Raven avoid guys like that like the plague...no matter how talented they are.

Re: Best Available still on the board......

as for what I'm looking for...

I still say avoid the TEs...blocking skills on the best 3 available are not good, and I think we need to get a guy who can block as well as he can catch...

Ozzie made mention of the fact that they have targeted WRs in every round, which makes me think we're only picking a WR if they are the best player left on the board. So while I'd like to see us pick up Iglesias, Murphy, Barden, or Wallace, I wouldn't bet on it...we're probably using our 6th on a WR or not at all.

I'd actually say my preference is to trade down if we're not taking WR...we still have needs to fill at WR, LB, CB, TE, and K. We only have 3 picks left right now, so I'd like to see us pick up some extra picks if we can. Harbaugh and company mentioned that unlike last year, where they wanted to re-stock the team, this year's draft is more about targeting a few guys to fill key areas. This seems out of character for a Ravens draft, we rarely ever just pick a few guys.

Also, trading down could lead to us taking a WR in the 4th if one slips out of the 3rd round.

Yeah the tight ends are all primarily downfield receiveing types, but you have to remember that is the trend these days. Not a lot can block at the line, their strength is being flexed out wide or creating a mismatch on a linebacker.

I wouldnt rule out a trade down.

We need depth at ILB,could be had in 5th or 6th round.

Corner would be nice, still some good ones out there.

Only way I take a WR if it is a guy like Mike Thomas who is a blazer out of the slot, other outside guys are rather pedestrian at this point.

Not so sure a kicker is needed, likely will pick up one as a UDFA.

Agred on the TE's: not surprised Quinn from UNC went ahead of some of the other fancy pant, no -block TE's on the board. A guy like that is more useful to an NFL system than a college system. Sometimes I wonder how these ratings are done: for NFL value, or college value.

Among the actual TEs (and not the glorified slot receivers like Mark Hafner) I like what Ive seen of Bear Pascoe (Fresno) and what I've heard/read about David Johnson from Arkansas State. Maybe Anthony Hill, too.

The Coffmans and the other ones -- just slow WRs is all they are. Other teams can have 'em all they want.

Mayock just said he was told last week by a few teams that Ingrams ACL wasnt repaired properly and they took him off the board completely.

    CB from MD Barnes.
    RB from NC Brown
    WR Aaron Kelly Clemson
    Wr Brandon Tate
Wr Brooks Foster (love this guy) He is a RB with hands and the best gunner ever. Special teams ace for sure and may be a very good slot WR.

If Johnson, Gilbert or Sidbury are there in round 3 they would seem like great value even as 3rd down only players.

The TEs are still pretty deep and there are a couple of FBs in the Ovie Mughelli mold.

    C from Bama

It may be a trend, but NOT HERE. Did you watch us play last year? Everyone was complaining that Heap wasn't out in routes enough. Do you want an Even worse blocker that never runs routes?
It may also not be a trend anymore. Notice the only two TE's gone. Pettigrew and Richard Quinn. Quinn was a 5th round prospect by most that caught 8 passes last year. He was picked ahead of the 8 WR's masquerading as TE's(Coffman, Nelson, Ingram, Casey, Beckum, Cook). I want NONE of them.

Coming up soon, I like Jason Phillips, Jasper Brinkley, Coye Francies, Kevin Barnes, Joaquin Iglecias, Brandon Gibson, Anthony HIll, Quinn Johnson, Andre Brown, Cedric Peerman and a few others here on day 2.
