1st, give to Rice who makes some nice moves for 4-5.
2nd and 6, Flacco avoids a sack, moves up nicely, ends up going OOB and questionably takes a hit right at the sideline.
3rd and 5, flag for delay. grrr.
3rd and 10, complete to Heap to the 47 yard line. Nice play.

1st, screen to Willis, gets about 6 yards. Nice run by him.
2nd and 4.5, complete to Clayton for 7 or 8, first down.

1st from the Chiefs 41, Hali comes around the corner and causes a fumble, luckily Flacco falls on it and its only about a 3-4 yard sack.

2nd and 14, goes for Rice, who pops the ball up and luckily it falls incomplete. Too high for Ray.
3rd and 14, complete to Clayton for 16! NICE!!!

Opening week is just so strange and unpredictable. The D is clearly doing its job but I think I'll be happy at this point if we just win the game. Of course the way the offense is moving the ball it might get broken open in the second half.

I don't know exactly what is happening with the Ravens but we need to fix some of these mental errors by next week.

Great throw by Flacco to Clayton to pick up the first but the lack of a running game is a concern.
This is a novel I was asked to proofread. The author is giving 10% of the profits to kidney research, which is a big deal in the Darb household. Fair warning; it's a fantasy novel, and the main characters are lesbians. It's three bucks on kindle from Amazon.http://www.amazon.com/WINDOWS-BROKEN...ken+fairy+tale

Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Chiefs - Season opener!

1st from the 29, late audible from Flacco, Rice for about 5-6.
2nd and 4, goes for Heap and dropped. He got hit pretty hard by Page. Perfect throw though. Gannon says it was high but it was right on the numbers, lol.
3rd and 4, tipped pass. ARGH. Forced to take a FG.

41 yarder - no good. Wide left.

Stover's cell might be blowing up tonight..

There's no problem with the run game. Rice is averaging 4-5 yards a carry. They just aren't using it a lot.

While I like that we are opening up the offense, I would like to see us run the ball more.

Flacco should not be throwing 25 passes in a half. And if he does, we need to either be up 14 or more points so we can almost exclusively run the ball in the second half, or we would be behind by a lot of points.

To paraphrase Admiral Beatty at Jutland:

"There's something wrong with our bloody special teams today."

    BS

Yeah we have called 28 passes to 10 runs.

    Way out of wack

    Chiefs false start.

1st and 15, at the 26, LJ spins off and gets about 7.
2nd and 8, end around to Charles is diagnosed terrificly - loses 3-4.
3rd and 11, complete, and the Chiefs get a ridiculously generous spot for the first. BAH

    2 minute warning.

With this gameplan, something tells me the coaches expected to be up about 14-20 points right now, so they could grind it out in the 2nd. They should work in some more balance so they can get that lead.

Damn Jim leonard just got a 46 yd punt return. Why didn't he get Carr's money.

I think the Ravens are trying to challenge that first.

I've got the feeling that the Offense just doesn't have its head in the game....Mason dropping balls, Hauschka missing fg's, etc. What's the odds that Stover is on the roster at the end of the year?

I agree, but we still could have run more than 10 times. Maybe 20 passes and 14 rushes or so. 28 to 10 is a little extreme IMHO.
