I think the NFL should just play Two Hand Touch

Or flag football, or better yet just let the defender yell "BOO!" and have that count as a tackle.

Because it is obvious good hard football has been outlawed in the NFL.

From watching a TON of football this weekend and tonight one thing has become very clear, these officials are calling anything and everything especially when it comes to quarterbacks.

Never in my life have I see such ticky tack calls left and right, and you know it is bad when the commentators call the refs out when it happens.

I mean just tonight I have seen 3 complete bullshit calls on roughing the QB,and a "spearing" call on the Bills that was a clean hit. The Wilfork hit in the endzone dumbfounded me,he literaly grabbed Edwards around the waist and they call him for going low??? Are you kidding??

I mean this shit is getting ridiculous.

I thought AD slamming Edwards into the turf was a little excessive, but other than that you're absolutely right. They might as well just use two hand touch rules when it comes to QBs.

I'm all for protecting the QBs (now that we have one actually worth protecting).
What bothers me is the inconsistency of the calls.
The Wilfork hit was arms around thighs, head belt high.

Compund the issue with big bastards like Rothlisberger that refuse to go down and you're basically damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Definitely needs to be revisited as the game will be destroyed by protection rules.

Well, Wilfork's reputation precedes him so I wouldn't be surprised if that played into it.

Where's the protection for Running Backs? They get the living snot knocked out of them every time they carry the ball.

I get that but the ref was level with Brady looking right at the play, how can youy miss that???

It's not like it was borderline,it was not even CLOSE!!

I can see the AD hit being called he went just a little too long and slammed him, but that one on Wilfork was just comical.

It has been a theme throughout the entire weekend not just tonights game.

It is also clear that "when in doubt" ....throw the flag. Or for that matter, even when it is not in doubt and it is a clean play...throw it too.

It has gotten out of hand, and is almost like the oficials are looking to throw the flag rather then calling it like they see it. Goodell sure scared the hell out of them in the offseason that is for sure.

if anyone watched the Bears and Packers game, it was just the opposite! the Bears D was hammering Rogers and weren't called for anything compared to how they call shots against our Defense....

See i don't like the AD one at all because if he does not get him down and Edwards would just be able to throw it away or complete the pass... this is football you should be allowed to slam a QB they are football players to. The Wilfork was pure BS... I would hate to play defense in the NFL these days.
