Stealers @ Bungles
What's everyone think of this match up?
I think if Carson can stay up right, they win this game. That will be a huge accomplishment though when you consider the Stealers d-line vs. the Bungles o-line.
The Stealers don't have the secondary to match the deep threats the Bungles have. Bungles probably won't be able to run the ball though. Bungles defense is improved, Ben will have to make a lot of plays to put up points...
My prediction: Bungles 21 - Stealers 17

Re: Stealers @ Bungles
IMO, the hype surrounding both teams is inflated.
Lots of folks are looking at the Bears game and saying Shittsburgh is vulnerable. I am not buying that one. Yeah, they have injuries and suspect O line but I do not see the D line of the Bungals exploiting that.
People are also saying the Bungals beating the Packers shows that Palmer is back. I am not buying that one either. I never did understand the pre-season hype surrounding the Packers. They are good and moving in the right direction but not this season. Beating the Packers was no big accomplishment in terms of how good the Bengals may or may not be. After watching Hard Knocks, that team is in chaos and it starts from the owner down.
I see piss and black rolling pretty easy on Sunday.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: Stealers @ Bungles
Oooohhhhh. I am not sure the Bengles are this powerhouse team that talking heads are making them out to be. There were a lot of upsets last week. The Bungles beat a team that went 6-10 last year. The Bengals went 4-11-1. I am not convinced that the Bengals have what it takes to beat the Steelers.

Re: Stealers @ Bungles
There is a history here that makes it undeniably difficult to pick the bengals to win this game. It might be similar to the Ravens beating JAX in 2000 although not quite as dramatic. I like this game as brought up in a similar post earlier in the week. I think Cincy plays this game tough and might come out on top. I would like to read the evaluations of that upset for the following week.
Another great match up this week is Tenn vs. NY Jets. Could be that on Monday morning a lot of talking heads are praising the Bengals and the Jets. Goes to show that preseason predictions are a complete waste of energy. I can't think of any other sport that creates the match ups that football does. Even the Falcons and Patriots is an intriguing match up.
Is it Sunday yet?

Re: Stealers @ Bungles
I would not bet on this one no matter what the line is but I think it will be a very good game.
The Steelers lost to a Bears team that got beat by a GB team the Bungles pounced on. The Titans should have beat the Steelers and then got beat by the Texans who got stomped by the Jets, who then beat down the Pats so the Texans maybe were better that I thought, but they put up a lot of points and yards on the Titans, who should have beat the Steelers.
The Bungles did get beat by Denver, who was thought to be terrible, but then beat down the Clowns, who are terrible.
I don't know. There is no way I can bet on the Bungles but I like them to win this game. When I break down the matchups and look at the stats they matchup pretty well and have the game at home. They are also one of those teams that may only win 5 or 6 games but beat or tie some playoff teams along the way.

Re: Stealers @ Bungles
Odom against a bad Steelers OL and Roethlisberger who tends to hold the ball longer than he should will be an interesting match-up. If Big Ben stays up-right, the Steelers will win this one. But if they can't keep him up, the Bengals could definitely pull off the upset.
I'm contemplating betting the Bengals here, but I think the sharps moved the line in the Steelers direction which gives me pause...

Re: Stealers @ Bungles
That's the thing - the Bungles suddenly have an above average d-line, decent LB's, and solid corners. The Stealers will probably try to hit some slants but if the Bungles can contain that and get pressure I don't know how the Stealers plan on scoring.
This game is going to be interesting to see, could tell us a few things about both teams.

If I was a betting man (which I'm not), this is one game I would stay away far away from. After 2 games of an NFL season, neither team has shown which way they're gonna go this season. Your best bet is to simply flip a coin. At least you have a 50% chance anyway.
Indy/Arizona is also interesting, and yet another I wouldn't bet on.

Re: Stealers @ Bungles
Glad to see the Steelers lose, but now I'm worried about the Bengals...2 straight weeks with big wins, and a matchup against the Browns next week. The way things are shaping up, I think we are battling them for the division. And yes, I said battling.

Prior to this Sunday, I was a bit bummed the next game I would make it back for was the Bungals.
If we drop to NE on the road, that game will now be the battle for the division.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Re: Stealers @ Bungles
I had the pleasure of watching the end of this game in a sports bar with several vocal Squeelers fans. You can only imagine how much I enjoyed their meltdown when their team gagged at the very end. Sweet!
