    Re: GAME THREAD - Ravens/Patriots

So they're allowed to knock down Flacco after he throws the ball but we get a 15 yard penalty if we touch Brady?

    Anybody surprised?
This is a novel I was asked to proofread. The author is giving 10% of the profits to kidney research, which is a big deal in the Darb household. Fair warning; it's a fantasy novel, and the main characters are lesbians. It's three bucks on kindle from Amazon.http://www.amazon.com/WINDOWS-BROKEN...ken+fairy+tale

1st, PA, deep for Mason who was 1 on 1 and TONS of contact, but both fighting for the ball.
2nd, blitz comes and Flacco is hit as he throws, inc for KW.
3rd and 10, Flacco dropped back like he was screen passing, but goes deep for Mason and Merriweather makes a nice play to defend it. He was there for the TD.

    Punt downed at the 9.

Commentators say if Flacco steps up he hits Mason for the TD. I'm not so sure. I think if he steps up he gets slammed and possible picked with a wounded duck throw. I guess we'll never know. Credit to Merriweather for the nice PD.

Actually, I think they're right. He should have stepped up.

1st, Welker tackled by Ellerbe after catch of 4.
2nd and 6, Faulk stopped for a loss of 1.
3rd and 7, blitz comes, complete to Morris, gets 8 and a first. DAMNIT.

1st, complete to a wide open Watson to the Ravens 45. Again, not enough pressure.

    Landry blew the coverage completely.

How is that not intentional grounding? There wasn't a receiver within 10 yards of that pass.

1st, PA, Ellerbe penetrates on the blitz, Brady eludes the sack and throws away. No grounding?
2nd and 10, inside give to Morris for 5-6.
3rd and 4, blitz comes and Brady just throws it up. Flag flies, and it is OPI! Declined.

Ray came in untouched on the blitz. That's how you rattle Brady.

Big drive for the O - need some points here.

1st, nice playfake by Flacco, a DT got in on the pocket, Flacco slips and underhand flips to Heap for 5-6.
2nd and 5, big blitz comes, ball dropped by Willis at the sticks.

Some Raven is down. Might be Gaither.

He's still down. They only take this long for neck/head injuries. Really hope he's OK. He's moving everything, though.

Gaither's head hit Flacco in his back with his helmet.

    Looked like a concussion.

    Huge 3rd down here.

We need to run the ball more.

I am all for Flacco winging it but we should not be throwing it this much.
