So who hasn't jumped ship?
I for one have not, I know we played horribly last night, but why are we acting like the sky is falling?
There is still an off-chance that we could snag a playoff spot, the season isn't over. I mean we had Ed Reed sitting on the sidelines, Zbikowski had a nice pick, but he's not anything like Reed (no offense to Tom).
Sunday night, we were all making fun of the Steelers fans for doing the same thing on their boards that we are doing now. The thing is, their season is basically over, while ours is still up for grabs."A linebacker's job is to knock out running backs, to knock out receivers, to chase the football." - Ray Lewis

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
I was wondering that myself. We both sit at 6-6.
I don't know how people can watch the last 5-6 weeks and still think we're a playoff team.
Cover, Zibs doesn't play offense.

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
Lost 6 or our last 9 and we have a QB that, for some explicable reason, seems to have lost his touch at the worst time.
No, technically, the ship has not sailed. Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
This would be an opinion of someone who doesn't watch the rest of the NFL.
Who is a "playoff team" exactly? Jacksonville who barely beat the Rams at home, who lost to Seattle 41-0, and the 49ers 20-3?
The Broncos who lost to the Redskins, the Chargers 32-3, oh yea and that's right - they lost to us, 30-7.
The Jets with an up and down rookie QB and play a fairly tough schedule here on out?
The Steelers who have lost four straight, including one at home to Oakland and one on the road to KC?
The Dolphins who have lost Ronnie Brown and have inconsistent at best QB play?
The fact is while we may not be world beaters by any stretch, we are as much of a playoff team as any of the ones I just mentioned.

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
There is still an off chance that we make the playoffs, yes. But considering the fact that up until a month or two ago many of us thought that this team was a superbowl contender, it's highly disappointing that we're 6-6 and on the outside looking in. Some may call that 'sky is falling', some may not.
Personally I still have a decent amount of hope. We have an easier remaining schedule than Jax, Miami, NY, Denver and Pitt. I see Jax and NY fading out of the picture. Denver probably will get the 5 seed given their remaining schedule, and I think us, Pitt and Miami fight it out for the 6th seed. The game @ Pitt will be huge, and we'll need alot of outside help obviously.

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
I haven't jumped ship but I'd like to see Flacco make better decisions going down the stretch....

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
This team is done, its just fact.....Everybody has the blueprint to shut us down offensively, defensively we cant get pressure without blitzing, and actually last nite even when we blitzed we didnt get pressure for the most part. You cant beat good teams like this, hell you cant beat teams with good passing games like this, fatal deficiencies that hurt other aspects of our team

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
I've been sceptical of this team being ready for a month now and concerned about obvious problems since the first game. Every week people overlook glaring issues and take potshots at those who are concerned about them. If you are still hopeful that's cool, I've still been hopeful all along, but to see a team lose after as pitiful an offensive display last night, with as many terrible penalties and the lack of effort at the end... and not wonder if this team is only mathematically still in it and just not playing good enough football... Well I can't understand that... but to each his own.

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?

I would still rather see us win four straight and get spanked in round one than just give up on the season. Offseasons are long so you might as well soak up as much as you can while we are still technically as well as realistically in the hunt.
We have gone to dealing with the emotions of realizing this team is not an "elite" team after losing to the Patriots, dealing with the idea that this team will not win the division after losing to Cincy II and now dealing with the liklihood that we might not even make the playoffs but until that moment is cemented might as well sell out.

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
I agree with some of your comments. I am a die hard Ravens fan and season tix holder since 1996 but facts are facts ( WE ARE A AVERAGE TEAM AT BEST) Our coaching staff sucks, Our D Coordinator isn't getting the job done and our Offensive coordinator's play calling is laughable and special teams coaching and decisions have hurt us and then our HC says, it starts with me I have to coach better and players needs to play better nd how many weeks in a row do we hear that speech? Nothing has changed and we get out coached and played alot!!!! time to enjoy tailgaiting for 2 more weeks

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
Green Bay had 4 extra days to prepare for this game and they did a great job of doing so. The team fought hard but looked to me a little unprepared. Heap looked slow and I think he is gone after this year.
Mason is a great player but he really blew it again by losing his composure and that really hurt.
I think some of those penalties could have not been called but by the letter of the rule, they were there.
We should win the next two games, if we beat Pittsburgh, we have all the momentum in the world heading to Oakland. We still have a shot and you bet I'd rather be in the playoff's. At the start of this season, we were as good as any team in either league and we have the talent to make a run in the playoff's.Section 103 Row 7

I will NEVER jump ship! I will watch and root for my Ravens until the bitter end!!!!
I just may not get my hopes up as high as I have had them since the beginning of the year....

In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T
came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
I don't think anyone's "jumping ship", but I think the reality that our coach may be in over his head and our star QB's regression is finally beginning to set in with those in denial.

Re: So who hasn't jumped ship?
I don't think anyone is going to "jump ship". To me, that means dumping your team because it has win problems and beginnng to pull for some other team. That friends, it not what being a fan is all about.
Suffice to say, its OK to blast them verbally. They do not appear to be playing together, especially on offense. Flacco may have some problems that we are unaware of. Plus, he gets no protection like he did last year. Then there is the receiver problem. No one gets open. Is it lack of team talent? Or is it coaching? I lean to the later. And then there are the penalties. I blame that on coachng.
If they can get to playing together and lay off those Goddamned penalties, they will do a lot better.
We just have to wait and see. In the meantime, they are ours.
We'll soon see as we approach the season conclusion.
