You should have seen what the Supa Pscycho WalMart up there in lower Hanover looked like tonight.

It might take that store a couple days to clean up and restock that disaster.

You would have thought the end of the world ws coming.

I don't think I've ever been that stressed out grocery shoppping before.

Anybody else got concerns about actually being able to get on the lot, park and tailgate?

You're OK in NC. No snow out 95 way When you get to Richmond though, that's when you'll start slowing down. But isn't that always the case anyway?

Yes. I wonder if Ted can check in and tell us what the plowing policy is for the lot. There probably is none, so I will bring a snow shovel and simply look to clear a space to set up the tables and grill. We are going to play it be ear and see what happens.

I hate grocery shopping, but I would have loved to have gone out and watched that fiasco.

For $50.00 a spot I better be able to walk barefoot across that lot and not get wet feet.
All these small private lots all over the place like the one we are at could be real problems.
Even if by the grace of God they do get plowed there is no way all the cars that normally park there are going to get on.
They have to pile the snow some place which will take up spaces.

I don't think shoveling will be an option.
With that type of snow depth you might spend the entire time there shoveling.

We might have to hook up and carpool or something to try and conserve parking / snow storage space on the lot.

    Regarding the Walmart...
    Never seen anything like it.
Every freakin' cash register line open and backed up half into the clothes section to check out for hours and hours.
    Shelves virtually cleaned out.
No eggs, no milk, not even freakin' meat.
The damn deli counter was shut down because there wasn't much left to sell.

    Dude, I'm telling you....

The employees were all saying it was far worse then Black Friday was.

I stopped at a Home Depot to get a roll of duct tape and it took me 45 minutes to get out of the LOT.

Makes me think of those Civil Defense plans of way back. Chaos.

Landlord hasn't answered the phone all week, so you can guess what the policy is: Bring your own shovels and try to carpool to conserve space. We may wind up just taking the Light Rail in & walk over to the lot -- that would be a game-time decision. If Lot H isn't cleared as a walking path to the tailgate lot, we might just drink our beers at the Light Rail Station and go straight into the Stadium.

Metro police will most likely shut down any group conspicuously holding open containers on the platform. Just a heads up.

After decades of drinking the "last" beer in front of NFL and college stadiums nation-wide, I've never seen the local cops blink. Doubtful that that streak would start in tomorrow's slush mess, but thanks for the heads-up anyway, effo. We'll get off the Light Rail bridge before popping the last beers.

And I'll sit on my couch turn up the heat and pop one in spirit with you. Unless anyone has a spare ticket they don't mind giving to a poor young man who spent all his money on tickets to the Steelers OT thriller and Hanukkah gifts.

Yeah, it was a perfect storm of blizzard freak-out and holiday grocery shopping. Everyone panicked and thought they'd be snowed in right through Christmas, so they tried to get in all their holiday food shopping at the same time.

Of all the blizzard panics I can remember back to the late 70's, this apparently was the worst grocery store purge of them all.

That's exactly what I said last night while witnessing it up close and personal.
It was the perfect storm of events coliding together creating the ultimate shopping nightmare.

    Re: Game Rumor

I went out around 12:30 last night to the Giant Food. I wasn't even thinking of "stocking up", I just needed to do my usual grocery shopping. I figured by midnight, most of the people will be home. WRONG!! Every cash register was open, and every register had a line halfway back into the store! I only picked up about 5 items (the pickings in the meat department were pretty slim), and I had to wait about 40 minutes in line just to get the hell out of there!

Which brings me to another point: Shouldn't people who are technologically impaired be forbidden to use the "self check-out line"? Picking up one item at a time, scanning it, hearing it beep, and then just staring at the screen for a moment.... All I could do was think about shouting PUT THE FUCKING ITEM ON THE BELT AND SCAN THE NEXT ONE, IDIOT!!! Naturally, she had a full cart of items, and scanned each one with the same speedy precision. The next idiot in line also had a full cart, but insisted on using one hand, as her other hand was glued to her damn cell phone, yapping away. IDIOTS!!!

The whole experience was equivalent to getting a vasectomy, using rusty knives and no anesthesia!

I saw the same type thing happening at our local Metro, so I jumped into the old-fashioned 15 item express line, only three deep. So Mr. Douchebag - 2nd in line - pulls out 46 items and Miss Idiot clerk says nothing, ringing up his 46 items. Then Mr. Douchebag fumbles with a wad of bills, not enough to cover. Then for likely the first time in his life, Mr. Douchebag uses plastic in the do-it-yourself machine, requiring Miss Idiot clerk to have to come around the counter to help him. Over 20 minutes, one transaction. I wonder if some of these day-before-the-blizzard panic buyers hadn't been just released from the senile dementia homes.

I went into the Walmart in Elkton last night to stop and pick up sleds for the kids, at midnight they have 15-20 registers open and they were all 20 deep. I passed on the sleds, the kids can use cardboard or something.

My wife was in Walmart earlier in the day and was in an aisle looking for something on the shelves and some guy behind her made a smartass comment about taking her sweet time because the aisle was packed and he couldn't get around her. She politely told him he could have just said excuse me and he went on with some rant about how crazy the store was, she ended up telling the guy to go F himself and got applause from the other people around her...

It's amazing how people act when there is bad weather coming...

At the Superfresh in Hampden, a douchebag actually knocked my 9 year old down with is cart and said "get that kid out of my way." My wife restrained me from kicking his ass or filing charges. I had to satisfy myself with a verbal beat down of this asshat. Good thing I was wearing my Ravens santa hat and was in a good mood. And I went just because I enjoy watching people panic at the sight of snow...

Here's a PFT "rumor mill" blurb -- the first article I've seen which addresses the possibility of moving the game to MNF:

Of course, things could change again. Baltimore is expected to see 20-30 inches of snow before the storm ends late tonight or tomorrow morning.

Snow removal figures to be a major problem and there is some talk the game could potentially move to Monday night depending how the next 24 hours go.

Bares got in late last night and hopefully suffer jet lag.

49ers-Iggles game also moved to 4:15.

+1 hope that Chi-town packs it in by the 3rd quarter.

Bares can't run and bad weather for passing game. here's hoping we run RR and LeRon down their esophagus and take care of bidness.

guy on Matte show said 'Let's put them in hibernation!!!' +1
