HOT Harbaugh!
Harbaugh ripped his first team defensive line for their red zone generosity as RB Curtis Steele knifed his way through the teeth of the defensive front for two consecutive 6 yard runs.
“That’s our first team defensive line getting their [expletive] kicked by the second team offensive line!”
The wakeup call was heard as Steele’s next two carries went for -1 yard and a +1 yard.
Harbaugh frustrations seemed to carry over in the post practice presser. Perhaps the true source of his frustration was the play of Joe Flacco who for the second consecutive day could not find his rhythm.

Tony,
The part above that I highlighted is one of the more disturbing things I've read so far in this camp. Face it, this team is built for a championship, but they can only go as far as Flacco takes them. If he is truly having trouble finding rhythm, then we're truly fucked.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
It's camp. It's the first week of August.
If he's having trouble "finding rhythm" against the Jets and Bengals then we can worry.
Just yesterday Madden said he's never been more impressed with Flacco then what he saw yesterday, so which is it?
This is the thing that bothers me about this Twitter, instant news culture we live in. We get every little detail and people nit-pick over it all and panic.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
"Moments later, Harbaugh called for defensive linemen Terrence Cody and Brandon McKinney to see him in the middle of the field for a talk."
I guess first team is relative if his issue was with the #3 and #4 nose tackles.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
Same thing happened last year. Everybody was worried about Joe from training camp. Then he opened the season smoking hot.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
I can't lie the talk of Flacco bothers the shit out of me too.
But friends tell me all the time I am too jumpy and quick to hit the panic button. I've done been pretty close 3 or 4 times already since camp started.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
Not worried about Flacco. Training camp is where you test your limits and fit in throws you would not normally make. Do it when it means nothing so when the game is for keeps you've seen it before and know what to do.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
Exactly -- didn't Billick blow his stack every August at least once? How is this any different? Answer -- it's not.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
So two things to remember here, re: Flacco looking bad today...
1.) Guys are going to have their bad days. I'm pretty sure the 1st team DL has been good every day other than today. That doesn't mean we need to hit the panic button, just gives them more to work on with the coaches
2.) The media has differing opinions on performances sometimes...No offense to Tony on this one, but it could just be one guy interprets Joe as having bad day, another guy says the defense had a GREAT day, Joe just had an okay day vs a GREAT defense.
Consider that in OTAs, Baltimore Sun had a story about Demetrius Williams looking like he was the real deal this year. Meanwhile, Tony and others were saying Williams looked pedestrian and really on his way off the team this year. Same practices, but one guy thinks he looked great, another says no way. Same thing about how Troy Smith has looked...Preston had a blurb about Troy Smith not looking very good in camp so far, but other opinons have said Troy is looking good.
You just have to take the media reports with a grain of salt sometimes, it's hard to judge a day's performance without adding some subjectivity to it..

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
I went to camp today. I was a little shocked to see Cody's size. I had assumed that he was bigger with the nickname. He wasn't anywhere the force of Ngata and didn't have the size of him. He didn't even stack up with McKinnie. I am not in any whay suggesting that he can't become a great player. In fact, I think he will justify his draft status. It is just an observation.

It's making mistakes that we learn. Better Joe test himself now than in the fourth quarter vs. the Jets or whatever.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
Here's the funny thing about training camp. We are playing against ourselves. So anytime one side does well the other side has to, by definition, not do well.

Re: HOT Harbaugh!
Same as last year. All the picks he was throwing and Cam said this is where we want him to test his limits and see what he can do. He'll be fine and if for some reason he isn't. RAY RICE IN YO FACE!
