McNair Speaks to the Clarksville, TN Leaf Chronicle
I found a link to this article thru profootballtalk.com that is in the Leaf Chronicle in Clarksville, TN about Steve McNair & his take on the coming stonger Player Conduct Policy. He has some interesting quotes about this & the loss to the Colts, Vince Young, the Titans, & his involvement w/ the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Anything in The Sun today about the Ravens? Not that I see

Re: McNair Speaks to the Clarksville, TN Leaf Chronicle
Watch some idiot come on here and post, "How dare McNair talk to a newspaper in tennessee."
As for the article, it was a good article and I agree with McNair's take that while every person deserves a second chance, these guys do control the environments they wish to travel to. Pacman seems drawn to places where he can get into trouble and he does not seem to learn from mistakes. Maybe, Pacman just wishes to go to places where he won't get caught.
It is great that we have such a good character as McNair leading our offense. It's a new season! It's a new day!

Re: McNair Speaks to the Clarksville, TN Leaf Chronicle
Nice little read, but "We slipped up and didn't get as far as we thought we could go" is not what I'd call an interesting quote about the playoff loss.
I don't expect to see much, if any, Ravens coverage at this time of year -- nothing is happening.

The Ravens coverage we had this time last year was Preston stirring crap, I'm quite happy for there to be no Ravens news at this time of year.

OK, what's on everyone's mind right now, Orioles opening day or the draft? Mine is on the draft & Ravens. The Orioles are not on my list. I don't need to see controversey or Preston, but how about football articles? The draft is less then a month away. Can't they have their columnists each do mock drafts? Have an Ogden watch in the corner of the section. Something about purple.

What would it say? "Day 60 is the Jon Ogden Watch and nothing has changed since day 5?" I understand your frustration but few Sun readers pay as close attention to the Ravens as we do.Have an Ogden watch in the corner of the section.

For some reason the "Ogden Watch 2007" just strikes me as funny.

Re: McNair Speaks to the Clarksville, TN Leaf Chronicle
You want something to talk about?
How about Preston's latest bullshit.
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/f...orts-headlines
Here's a few gems:
"Since Rex Ryan didn't get the head coaching job with the San Diego Chargers, wouldn't it be smart for the Ravens to sign him to a new, multi-year contract, making him one of the highest-paid defensive coordinators in the league? With him as defensive coordinator the past two seasons, the Ravens have ranked No. 2 and No. 1, respectively in overall defense. After last season, the Ravens gave coach Brian Billick a new, four-year contract and made Neuheisel the offensive coordinator.
Meanwhile, Ryan hasn't gotten a new deal. Knowing the Ravens, they'll low-ball him first before they do the right thing with a good offer."
The Ravens always lowball huh? They might be tight with 1st round picks but for godsakes Preston. When have they lowballed coaches?
"Count me as one of the ones who didn't get excited because Billick recently broke bread with Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden in Las Vegas, where Ogden is mulling over possible retirement.
According to Billick, Ogden has been working out, but he was working out at this time last year. And he was working out several weeks ago when he was publicly critical of the organization for releasing veterans like running back Jamal Lewis and Mulitalo.
I would have loved to have been in on that conversation because one of the reasons Ogden is contemplating retirement is that he has become frustrated with Billick's play-calling.
Maybe the Ravens should have sent general manager Ozzie Newsome to meet with Ogden over a round of golf."
Is this guy serious? I thought it was Fassel who bore the brunt of Ogden's fury. I mean, Billick freakin canned the guy and called the plays and the offense was siginificantly better. Now Ogden might retire because he doesn't like Billick's playcalling? Bullshit.
"Recently, there was a suggestion that Ravens quarterback Steve McNair might play two or possibly three more years.
It would be amazing if McNair could milk three more years out of that body. As a matter of fact, I'd be happy just seeing him get through the 2007 season without a major injury."
I know Preston is a columnist and it's his job to get people to read and to generate reactions like this post.
But goddamn his act is old and tired.

Re: McNair Speaks to the Clarksville, TN Leaf Chronicle
I couldn't agree more, PP -- Preston is an ass who apparently thinks that it's his job to be an ass, and some idiot at the Sun is enabling him to do this. And yes, it's very old and very tired. I would think that predictability would be a very bad trait for a columnist that is supposed to rile people up, but that's what Preston is, predictable as the sun coming up in the morning. He's worthless on every level. I stopped reading his bullshit about a year ago because it was obvious that he was just making stuff up. How he continues to be employed is an issue much more interesting than anything he ever writes about.

I like Preston's lacrosse coverage.

When it comes to the Ravens, to quote myself, he is the voice of the ignorant hater fan.Festivus
His definitions and arguments were so clear in his own mind that he was unable to understand how any reasonable person could honestly differ with him.

Actually, his job is to get you talking about his column, he typically does it by bashing something Ravens and getting you folks in a froth.Preston is an ass who apparently thinks that it's his job to be an ass, and some idiot at the Sun is enabling him to do this.

Re: McNair Speaks to the Clarksville, TN Leaf Chronicle
What he is reffering to is getting people all riled up and then they post it on message boards and talk about the column that Mike preston wrote.
Getting people to read and talk about his column is his goal wheter they are saying positive or negativet things about it.
