Now that there won't be a home playoff game

Wonder how many Ravens season tickets holders won't send the playoff money in now that there is no home playoff game here.

I'm not. Let them even think of threatening my season tickets for next year, especially after watching this team's offense.

They can't threaten to withdraw your regular tickets. You just forfeit the playoff games for this year, which frankly ain't happening now anyway.

Not sure what you are getting at - are you suggesting that those who don't are disloyal or wrong?

Steve: why would anyone send in playoff money? The Ravens have to have no more than a 5% chance at the #2 or #5 playoff seed, needed to host a playoff game.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Who cares who sends the money in or not. It's not anybodies business but the one who owns the ticket. Let me guess you are sending it in? You're so cool!

    Fuck them tickets!

According to http://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/afcstandings.html, here are the odds:

    1 Seed: 1%
    2 Seed: 9%
    3 Seed: 1%
    4 Seed: <1%
    5 Seed: 27%
    6 Seed: 49%
    No Playoffs: 12%

Well that's good. I thought I had read that buying them were required as part of my PSL contract.

You're crazy. We play our best ball against Pitt and they against us. The truth of hte matter is they have a bottom 5 secondary and offensive line. They're far from invincible and WILL trip up at least once before week 17.

We're only 1 game behind them. It's not unfathomable that they finish 11-5, either.

The only good thing to come out of Sunday's loss is that now I can ignore that invoice.

Don't plan on writing that check this week. I will be watching the playoffs from the couch yet again. If we won on Sunday, they would have had my money.

I think if we win out and the Steelers go 3-1, losing to either Cleveland or Cincinnati, we'd be tied for divisional and conference record but the Steelers would still win the division based on Strength of Schedule. The Ravens would have beat Denver and Houston (currently 8-16) while Pitt would have beat Oakland and Tennessee (currently 11-13). I could be wrong about that.

However if the Steelers lose 2 conference games, and one of them is to either Cleveland or Cincinnati, the Ravens could lose to New Orleans and still win the division on the basis of conference record.

There ain't a chance in hell the Bengals beat the Steelers. The Bengals have packed it in this year already.

  16. Re: Now that there won't be a home playoff game

I sent my money in already. I never want to take a chance we make it and i didn't send it in. It's just paying my seats early for next year if we don't make it, no downside at all for me.

We win out and steelers lose to jets and browns. We are at home. It's not impossible for either team to do that.

I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong, this is just me.

I wouldn't go as far to say there ain't a chance in hell. The Squeelers don't have much of an O-line anymore and Ben is not as mobile. With this being a division game I would expect the Bungles to put up a fight.

Well, what are our chances of getting a homefield playoff game at 5th seed? Pay Invoice or not????

I feel you. I dont know what to do. Pay it or not. Ive been reading the boards for weeks now... I have the invoice in front of me here at work... Last night I was thinking that we could host the wildcard maybe against the Jets... The Divisional Round and the Championship is a far off dream.

The only way the Ravens host a playoff game as a #5 seed could ONLY be the AFC Championship game, against what looks like the Jets right now. There is no other scenario for a #5 to host a playoff game.
