    Jim Zorn

So the reports of yesterday were that, for some reason, Zorn would NOT be retained as QB coach. Now the word is the reason for that is he may be getting the Browns OC job.

I hate it when guys go from our staff directly to a division rival. Hopefully Cam playing things close to the vest helps us there, maybe Zorn doesn't know all that much about our offense?

Zorn will be like Billick's Cavanaugh if this plays out as described.

For me the only difference between Zorn and Zero is one consonant!

I don't think we know that much about our offense. LOL. On a serious note I think Zorn was a bad signing from the start. To me, Flacco looked worse this year then he did the past two years with Hugh Jackson as QB Coach.
Pffffff! I trust wikipedia more than the NFL. If anyone would know football, it is clearly wikipedia.

The key name there is Hugh Jackson. This guy left Carson, Flacco, and maybe the coach of the Raiders. Success at the QB position follows that guy.

I said this at the beginning of the year, and I was told I didn't know what the eff I was talking about.

I guess about the only thing Zorn could have learned from our watching our offense this year, was how NOT to scheme an offense! LOL !

    Go Ravens!

Maybe it was Zorn who taught Flacco that holding the ball for 10 seconds is OK

And once again, the Browns' tunnel-vision has them looking to Baltimore to see if it can collect more of our rejects and build a slightly less dreadful team out of them. "we just gotta bring in some of that 'Ravens' attitude -- that's what will turn the Browns around!" hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah

Could be but part of it is sending a slow WR on a route we know he can seperate from the DB on....

No, this one actually has some merit. Zorn worked for Holmgren in Seattle.

I had heard that Zorn couldn't really be that direct line between Cam and Flacco. Apparently Flacco and Cam really don't like one another, so Zorn was supposed to be the voice between the two, Jackson was good in that role, but Zorn couldn't handle it.

Shocking that Zorn couldn't handle a high pressure position.

Over the past two days I've learned more about why the offense didn't click.

From top to bottom there is no consistent vision for the offense.

Ozzie's signing of T.J. didn't not address the need to replace the speed lost from Stallworth's injury. He never had a role.

I was equally floored that Harbs never sat in on offensive meetings. I know it's not his forte but it's his team. I know you trust your assistants but the head oversees all facets and keep everyone in line with one vision- one voice.

Zorn's addition to the staff made no sense. Sure he knows QBs but he doesn't know the Coryell offense. He's a West Coast guy. He spent most of the year having Flacco interpret the offense to him!

He also couldn't be the buffer that Hue was between Cam and Joe.

Cam wants to be a pass first team. Joe is better in the shotgun with quick reads. The Ravens should still be run first and Joe should be throwing 25 times a game.

I don't care what offense or style or scheme you like- pick ONE they all work. But once you decide that then you must put players on your roster that fit that mold and can best execute the plan. The plan shows off their strengths and hides weaknesses.

The hope is that through all this discussion the Ravens brass may have finally figured it out.

    At least let's hope so.

I really agree with this statement. I have been in supervisory roles for many years and I never let my underlings go unsupervised no matter how knowledgable they were. As a leader you have to know what the heck is going on and you have to know more than them. The one thing about Harbaugh that always bothered me is that he is a jack of all trades and master of none. He has no expertise except for special teams. Most head coaches are offensive or defensive minded and can override a coordinator. Maybe that is why I never ever see Harbaugh even as much utter a word during a game. Whenever the camera is on him, he has that glazed look; like he is in another world. Rex Ryan never has that look and either does Bill Belichick. The only time Harbaugh opens his mouth is if he has to say something to an official. Something is wrong with this picture.

Not sure what games you're watching but I've seen Harbs work refs, consult with Mattison and Cam, and talk to players with pretty average frequency.

I have serious doubts about how much football you're actually watching if you think Harbs spends game day standing in a daze on the sideline.
