Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/bl...cc4c03286.html
Interesting how he doesn't consider Harrison a dirty player. There's also Chris Kemoeatu & a lot of people don't realize how dirty he really is.

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
Ward said Reed doesn't even speak to him at the pro bowl games. Didn't
Hiney give Ed his neck injury on that cheap hit from the blind side. Ed never
saw it coming.

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
Ward can give classes on how to be a cheap shot artist.

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
Ward got it started and Landry made sure it kept going with his kill-shot collisions during camp/practice. I swear...the top 3 or 4 hits Landry's had over the last couple years have ALL been on Reed and/or another Raven.

On another note, I respect Ed's opinion on Harrison and agree with him.

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
The fact that Steeler fans deny him being a dirty player is hilarious. All of his hits are nowhere near the play, he just does it to hurt other players. They're kind of like Antwan Barnes' hit on that Eagles punter in that preseason game a few years ago.
The NFL seriously needs to consider fining offensive players too if they throw "blocks" on defenseless defensive players.

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
Thanks guys.
Hey Smoke - I didn't know that about Landry in practice. He sure didn't hit hard in the games missing
all those tackles-lol. What in the hell is the Ravens fascination with Landry? I just don't know.
Jake Tatum the Assassin started all the spearing or made it famous. He speared
Daryl Stingley-sp of NE in the spinal chord and paralyzed him and was never
remorseful. Stingley recently died of complications caused by that hit.
In his book, Tatum said John Mackey of the Colts bad mouthed him and said Tatum
isn't so tough. So when they played, Mackey went out for a pass. Tatum said he could
have knocked the ball down but waited til it touched his fingers, then he hit him in
the rib cage. He felt the entire side of Mackey's rib cage collapse.
While Mackey is yelling and screaming and squirming on the ground Tatum said now
you know how hard I hit but it was a cheap dirty shot to an unprotected area of the
body with the helmet and all of the helmet.
The Baltimore Colts had a guy who imitated Tatum named Lyle Blackwood, I think it was.
BTW, his book entitled The Assassin is great football reading. He said Woody Hayes bragged
that he has a freshman corner back that the seniors are afraid of and when OAK had a parade
to start the summer camp mothers pulled their kids in the house and closed the curtains.
The saw some old folks peeking thru their curtains as they rode by. LOLLast edited by AirFlacco; 07-20-2011 at 11:22 PM.

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
The NFL is littered with dirty player. Guys trying to gouge out eyes in the pile, going for the groin, going for the knees, etc.
It's not just the Steelers.
Anyone remember that hit Warren Sapp put on that Green Bay offensive lineman when he was nowhere near the play? I believe he injured that OL'man for the rest of the season. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
No doubt it is one thing to get a block on the same side of the field as the play that is happening, but when you are over 10 yards away from the play (obviously on the other side of the field not between the player and goal line) you don't expect for some jackhole to throw a hit on you. There should definitly be more penalties and fines thrown on O players who play dirty no matter what the color of their jerseys.

Re: Ed Reed Calls Hines Ward a Dirty Player
The reality is that Hines is a dirty player. If you take a look at the vast majority of Hines' crushing crack back blocks, they are done with the crown of the helmet, including shots given to Bart Scott, Ed Reed and Keith Rivers. When you see Ray or Ed deliver hits, if they are going high, they are going with the shoulder. Many of their best hits have actually been textbook tackles (McCluster, Winslow).
