Steelers to Raven’s Payment Conspiracy Uncovered
After the embarrassing personnel decisions made by the Ravens yesterday, I am now convinced what I have suspected for years – the Ravens are in bed with the Steelers, and are being paid off by creepy old Dan Rooney himself to make personnel decisions that my two year old would have known better to avoid. Why would you cut Mason and Heap? So who do we throw to now besides Boldin? Tandon Doss? Ed Dickson? How about I polish the AFC North trophy and just hand it to Pittsburgh now. This is why we are always a bridesmaid and never the bride – we are being paid by the Steelers to make these types of decisions.

Re: Steelers to Raven’s Payment Conspiracy Uncovered
think you're overreacting a bit here. Why don't we wait to see what Ozzie and the FO do before we call off the season. Mason is 37 yrs old w/ a big cap # and Heap is not worth 4.6 million this yr. Its a business, its that simple.

Re: Steelers to Raven’s Payment Conspiracy Uncovered
First off, there's nothing that says they won't bring some of those guys back at a lesser price. I'm betting that's what happens with Mason, but that's just my personal feeling on the matter. If they do, that sounds like a win-win scenario (keep your guy, pay him less)
Plus, as Knox pointed out, there were good reasons to make all those moves.
Let's step back and see this for what it is.

Re: Steelers to Raven’s Payment Conspiracy Uncovered
Come on. We've known for 2 years now that McGahee was out. Gregg hasnt been a cog on our defense for 3 years. Mason is 37. He wasnt going to be around much longer anyway. If not this year, he would have been gone next year.
And Heap, I am quite pissed about. But even that has more to do with emotion than it does the actual impact his departure will have on the field.

They need to not allow 7-year olds on the forums.

I must admit, the OP is full of logic which is virtually unimpeachable. I commend you, sir. Well done, old top.

And you're here since 2007, the OP is not some new poster
Which makes this even more of an overreaction
I haven't seen one of these threads since Week 2 against the Bengals last season
Edit, the icon I've used is called a grbac??? Some mod has a sense of humour

Re: Steelers to Raven’s Payment Conspiracy Uncovered
Step off the ledge, buddy. Good teams move forward, don't get hung up on the past. They keep their young players insulated until its time for them to go out and tear it up. This is why the Pats continuously are letting go of players in their primes, and are still always competing. We are one of the few elite clubs that can afford to let talent walk because they are good enough talent evaluators to get it back on the cheap. No coincidence that the Ravens have had 2 UDFA MLBs get top market contracts, no coincidence that all our FBs get big money elsewhere. Even our back-up O-linemen are in demand (Pashos, Rabach). This Chicken Little BS has no place with this franchise. They aren't the Orioles. We have to trust them. Its like fans in this city have PTSD as a result of 15 years of horrid baseball operations and forget that they have no reason to question the moves this FO makes. Of course we have the right to question the moves, but hasn't history shown us that we should give these guys the benefit of the doubt?

Re: Steelers to Raven’s Payment Conspiracy Uncovered
They have 39 players under contract right now if I am counting correctly. They can bring, what, 90 to camp? Something tells me that one or two of those extra 51 guys could help out a little
And I won't be entirely surprised if names like Todd Heap and Derrick Mason are among the 51. If they can bring them back for less, isn't that good? If they can sign Ngata to a new contract they could be amassing quite a bit of cap space with which to bring in a pretty impressive player or two, and then this thread becomes, what's the word, embarrassing?
