    Jets Re-sign Holmes

Will be interesting to see how the numbers shake out but I have to wonder if the Asomugha to Jets talk was just a scare tactic to get Holmes to commit before all of the cap dollars were depleted.

It's a good signing and should have been expected. They didn't give up a 2nd round pick to lease him for 10 or 12 games. Their offense was much improved once he returned from suspension.

Why is Jamison Hensley trying to be Mike Preston over this?

Oh woes. Worst case scenario would have been him signing back into our division, which didn't happen. So we have to face him once. Maybe only once in the next 3 years.
"A lot" is a two word expression denoting a great deal or greatly, as in "I like sunshine a lot." "Alot" is a lovable imaginary grammar monster. You can love a lot; you can love an alot; you can love alots a lot; but they are not the same thing.

Per Adam Schefter: Santonio Holmes early numbers: 5 years, $50 million, including $24 million guaranteed, thought to be highest guarantee given to a WR.

    Fair?

Will Sidney Rice get more or less?

I could see Randy Moss playing in Braylon Edwards spot...Rex loves big names.

Pretty sure worst case scenario would be for them to sign Nnamdi...cuz then what? Run the ball 80x against them?

Because now that sets the market and probably set's Sydney Rice's numbers above what Ozzie may want to pay for.

I don't think Rice will earn as much as Holmes.

I really never saw Rice as a target for the Ravens, but I agree he is not worth what Holmes got.

Maybe I'm crazy but doesn't that contract seem a little outrageous. Holmes is a very good WR but I never considered him an elite WR. I would be pissed at Oz if he gave that kind of contract to Holmes.

So would I. I think he is good but I think NY overpaid.

I agree as well. Hated when he left the Steelers, but knew he would be looking for a big payday this off-season and he wouldn't get it from the Steelers. Not sure we would have won SB XLIII w/o Tone, but that's too much cash IMO. Especially considering he's one bad-decision away from a year suspension.

I don't really have faith in Sanchez. Maybe it's just me. I will take our D vs the Jets' O any day.

This quote could be applied to a lot of their transactions over the last couple of years!

It's Snyder-sque. I have to wonder when the salary cap is going to catch up to the Jets. Are they gutting their bench players to front-load the starting 22 guys?
