Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
It's mind over matter. Foxworth just needs to push it. The doctors would not have put him on the field if he was not sufficiently healed.
Yes I'm questioning his toughness. He's our top paid corner.

I've wanted to cut the guy all offseason. I think the only reason the Ravens havent is because it wouldnt look good based on his role in negotiating the CBA. This certainly doesnt change my mind. For the 7 million we will pay him we could have kept Josh Wilson.

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
I agree but at the end of the day if its in his head he's screwed. I completely healed from a shattered tibula & fibula and for years playing basketball i would not jump on it or do anything to put it in danger of shattering again. The mental is tougher than the healing from it physically in my opinion. I think thats the exact thing going on here

You have an answer for everything and half the time you're not right. Why does Webb have to be on Wallace? The play everybody remembers is the deep pass and Webb was beat, he made a nice play to deflect the pass. We don't 'need' Webb.

Webb played great matched up on wallace in the first pitt game last year. Granted they had batch at QB.

Did you read the post or are you just responding for the sake of responding? Foxworth should have been apart of the black Monday cuts. His salary, the injury and the overall structure of his contrast says that. And its my opinion that had he not been a key cog in the CBA negotiations, he would have been cut with Heap, Gregg, Mason, and McGahee.

Chris Carr started 16 games last year. He can start every game this year if that's what they need.

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
Ok, but you are assuming that he has spent no time working out even while dealing with the lockout. None of that is verified.
But the reality here is that his leg may not heal to 100%. And if that's the case, then as unfair as it may be he will have to step aside for those that can play.
NFLPA rep or not, I just cannot fathom the team being so scared of repercussions that they would not put their best players on the field. When I hear a player say "I don’t feel as quick or as fast as I once was," then that is the cue to unfortunately move on.
And he held up just fine.

By the way, just a quick warning; keep the conversation above board please. No need to make comments towards other posters.
Disagree or agree, make your point, draw the line. Thanks guys.

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
That's like telling receivers "if your looking for big numbers look no further than I. I am Foxworth. Dominique Foxworth" LMAO

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
Certainly not good news.

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
It also possible that Foxworth is just plain out of shape after the injury and then the lockout. He might just need the preseason to get back to where he was. It's possible this really could be nothing.

That's your opinion and I don't agree with it. I would be inclined to believe Ozzie's own reputation would have been hurt by cutting a player he went after on the opening day of free agency, then cutting him a couple years later. What does the CBA have to do anything? Foxworths activities in a courtroom have nothing to do with the millions he makes to play football.

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
Letting Wilson go really seems pretty boneheaded right now.

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
Actually, when you read the source of the blurb from the OP, that's exactly what Foxworth says he's doing:
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/spor...reat.html#moreBut Foxworth said that rather than add more to his plate, the coaching and medical staffs are trying to curb his reps.
“The coaches and trainers try to roll me back and roll back my reps, and I’m trying to push them forward,” he said. “I think they’re scared I’m going to reinjure it, and I’m scared it’s not going to be strong enough. So I just want to push and push and push, and they want to make sure that I don’t kill myself. It’s August, and Jimmy didn’t tear anything. So he’ll be fine. And Chris will be practicing next week. I don’t think anybody’s in a panic just yet.”

Ravens need to cut him, admint their mistake, and keep moving. Pickup Carlos Rogers or trade for Samuel.
"What would you give for the man beside you?"

Re: Foxworth's Status. Uh-oh
It's possible. I would have just rather heard Foxworth exude more confidence. It hurts, fine. It's supposed to hurt. Tell us you're going to do everything in your power, and you fully expect to be ready for Pittsburgh come hell or high water. If he doesn't believe in himself nobody is going to be able to do anything for him. Good corners are cocky for a reason. They think they're the best. With Foxworth I don't see a guy who can't stand losing. I see someone unsure of himself thus putting a huge target on his back.
