They really do not need anymore CBs. I think that Williams could handle the nickel if he were given the opportunity.

The hell it's not. Explain why they wouldn't be able to sign a FA?

If he doesn't believe in himself nobody is going to be able to do anything for him. Good corners are cocky for a reason. They think they're the best. With Foxworth I don't see a guy who can't stand losing. I see someone unsure of himself thus putting a huge target on his back.
Just because you're cocky doesn't make you good at the position. Not that I believe it but does it occur he may try to make it worse then what it is? Players in the NFL as well as coaches take the injury report to the extremes. Maybe Fox really is hurting but by no means do you make your decision off if he is being cocky and confident or not.

Foxworth is not that old, and ACL's no longer take an entire year to come back from. Like I said, Webb was back from his in eight months or so. Sure he was rusty, but all we heard from him is how he was going to get back. He didn't tell everyone how much it hurt. He just got himself right even though it was obvious there were lingering effects in the beginning.

Webb, Carr, Smith, Williams, Brown: could be worse. IF we get a bit more pressure up front front Kindle and/or Cody we'll be OK.

All that NNS is trying to say is that Foxworth's frustration with the injury is not something that he should have made public and that while may be trying to push himself, there is a certain mentality needed to get over the injury, as Billick would say, from a mental standpoint.

Last year at the beginning of the season
    Foxworth IR
Washington coming back from the ACL
Webb coming back from the ACL
    Wilson unfamiliar with the system
    Carr
    Williams suspended

    This year:
Foxworth coming back from the ACL
    Webb: Ready
    Smith
    Carr
    Williams

Good thing we kept Carr, huh?

I'd take a gander at Carlos Rodgers now.

Kelvin Hayden is out there as is Phillip Buchanon.

Paying Foxworth that amount of money made no sense from the get-go and when Ozzie had the press conference and said he was brought in to REPLACE McAlister, I laughed my ass off. When Chris was on, he was grand, I haven't seen grand out of Foxworth yet. Not to say that he won't get better but he was NEVER worth 6-7 million per year. If Jimmy is what they say he can be, I'd be happy. I miss having raw talent on the outside like McAlister and a technician like Rolle on the other side.

You are correct sir. Entering his 4th season. Must have beeen thinking of someone else, I thought he was in tenn for more than 1 season. He did look good in preseason last year, could be some potential there, I don't know. Fox at less than 100% is an expensive gamble.

once the cuts start there may be other options but right not there aren't many. It's early... let's see how he progresses.

Looking at the whole presser its kind of what he said. that he isn't 100% and that he is working at it. I think whoever started this thread was pulling a Preston, and really I don't like that at all...

"It’s frustrating. I don’t know. I’m not very happy about it, but I’ll just keep working, I guess," said Foxworth. "It hurts, and I don’t feel as quick or as fast as I once was." If rookie Jimmy Smith comes along quickly, Foxworth's roster spot will hang in the balance. The Ravens could go forward with Smith and Lardarius Webb as starters, shedding Foxworth's $4.4 million salary.

I had a feeling that all those labor talks would hinder him. God bless him for bringing back football for us but theres no way with all that was going on he had time to rehab that with including he couldn't even see the ravens trainers. Damnit
You interpreted a small part of the press conference and started a sky is falling thread.........forget about God, use some common sense man.

Yeah but it's still Foxworth saying he isn't ready to play a year later.

And if a month from now he's still not 100%?

I could be wrong but cutting him may trigger an injury settlement, because he missed last year with an injury. Not saying we shouldn't do it, just saying it comes with baggage.

Everybody reacts different and that's that. Fox is saying new hurt and it maybe true maybe not. Thank god we drafted Smith. Age has nothing to do with a thing. Webb bounced back, Welker came back faster. It's how you and your body adjust. You don't just hit a switch and say I'm better and ready to go.

Hope that it's 'close enough' so we can hide him at nickel...

Then pray. Then cross your fingers...
