    Derrick Mason on Fox

I caught part of an interview with Derrick Mason on Fox Sports Radio this morning. I missed the beginning, but I did hear him talk about how nice it was to have McNair on the team, because of his experience and the fact that they had played together. The part of the interview that I found interesting was when the interviewer (Steve Sczaban) asked him, "This is Ray Lewis's team, right?" Mason replied, "No, it's everybody's team." Sczab then asked him, "Well, it's Ray Lewis's defense, right?" And again, Mason said, "No, it's eleven guys out there who go all out." He went on to talk about what a great player Ray is and has been, but mentioned that AD and Kelly Gregg and at least one other player, probably Ed Reed, all were really good players who play hard on every play.

He was giving Ray props but it was clear that he had a team orientation. Good for him.

I have always been impressed with Derrick Mason ever since he arrived here. The guy is a leader; a winner; and someone who won't quit when the going gets tough! Kudos to you, Derrick!

If you get a chance he is featured on Ravens Wired. He is a great pickup for the Ravens. I like that Clayton follows him all around and hangs on his every word. Clayton is smart to do that since Mason is a 90+ catch guy for a 1000 yards. Seems like a great guy too.

Czaban like the rest of the national media is still clueless to the fact that AD, Bart Scott, and Ed Reed are better players right now than Ray. It's that same ignorance that leads them to thinking we're an old defense. Ray's old so the defense must be old! Morons!
The Steelers: Still looking for a legit Super Bowl victory.

I agree. He must have a good PR rep or just knows what to say and what not to say, cause he is a stand up guy

What are you thinking?? Ray Lewis is the best defensive player on the Ravens....AD, Bart Scott and Ed Reed are about to become great....Not there yet...They are very good, but Ray is the motivator and player player...Don't get me wrong, I am NOT dissin our defensive players...Just would start my team with Ray Lewis first if I had my choice

Until he proves otherwise to me, there is no one I'd rather have leading my favorite (and only) NFL team than a healthy Ray Lewis...
When unencumbered by injuries he's simply the smartest, fiercest and most passionate dude on a football field I've ever seen.

    UNLEASH THE BEASTS!!!!
