Floyd Stays in San Diego
Per ESPN Malcolm Floyd tested the free agent market and found it better to take a two-year deal with the Chargers.

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
Just get Mason or Houshmanzadeh back and be done with WR's....Mason will take our offer if he gets to stay the #2....and I can guarantee you Housh will if Mase doesn't.
Doss is Mason-like...but he isn't Mason yet....nobody runs that 5 yard curl better than our old 85.

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
First post, been reading for a while now. Losing out on a vet that could stretch the field hurts...especially for this years SB aspirations....deflated would be the word for me....

Son-of-a-bitch...
They better not bring back Mason to bitch and moan when he doesn't get the ball. Damn, I'm pissed.

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
Especially since Legadu Nanee (sp?) which was highly comparable to Floyd; signed with the Panthers for dirt cheap....

Not going to lie, I am disappointed. I'm not high on bringing back Mason.

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
We need someone to stretch the field period.
Well Ozzie what are you going to do now? This is a real let down.
Mason does nothing. We need more than possession receivers.
I can't believe this.

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
This is what happens when you wait a week and a half to start serious negotiations with your biggest cap noose.

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
It sounds like San Diego was willing to give him three million per year, but that it was Baltimore who was not willing to match that.

@jamisonhensley
Jamison Hensley Source said #Ravens had trouble clearing enough cap space to sign Floyd

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
Gotta wonder if Ozzie is not picking up the phone and calling the agent for Randy Moss .... asking about how firm that retirement really is.

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
They did not need Floyd anyway. David Reed has a similar skill set to Derrick Mason, with a less experience and savvy, but with more quickness and speed. Torrey Smith and Ed Dickson can both stretch the field. Smith will see his opportunities in the slot, as well as on the outside, while Boldin and Reed also see time in the slot.
This is actually a good thing, because it keeps the youth movement on track."When questioned, the Elders explained that they were in search of magical powers. However, they're actually searching for the whereabouts of a certain ring. This ring is a legendary treasure that long ago was known to exist"

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
is it ok to panic a little yet, or is it still, "in ozzie we trust"?

Re: Floyd Stays in San Diego
Then frigging sign Ngata already. Hell do something to get some cap room. How the hell the Raiders who were what like 15 million over the cap earlier this week can sign Boss but we cant clear enough space to sign Floyd is beyond me. Not to mention the fact that you clear space for a safety but cant address the other needs that are more imparitive....poor planning. I like Ozzie but not a fan of whats going on right now
