Demetrius Williams remember him?
Hes making good improvement for the Browns. Why did Harbaugh or Ozzie release him?

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
Because he would have to sit out several weeks from a hangnail.

Because he was terrible. Moving on...

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
He's one of the few Ravens that I actually wish well, unless he's playing us. Baltimore just was not the place for him, after Billick left.
There is no way that Marcus Smith was more deserving of a roster spot than him last year. And the only reason he got it was because Smith doesnt cry about playing special teams.

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
I haven't seen him play or heard anything about him in awhile, so I have no idea what kind of player he's like now, but he didn't do very much while he was here under Harbaugh. In 2008 and 2009 combined, he only had 21 receptions for 322 yards. Last year for the Browns he only appeared in 2 games and didn't catch a single pass.

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
If he becomes a seroius playmaker for the browns. Im gonna scream!!! And start a thread on firing Ozzie. If i was the owner id fire Ozzie right after that Steeler game last year.

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
Demetrius Williams was not retained, because of the following:
1.) Struggling to stay healthy
2.) Struggling to run the right routes
3.) Struggling to run good routes
4.) Struggling to catch the ball consistently.
Every team takes on developmental players and gives them about 3-4 years to tap into their potential. When those years are up, teams usually move on, to another developmental player."When questioned, the Elders explained that they were in search of magical powers. However, they're actually searching for the whereabouts of a certain ring. This ring is a legendary treasure that long ago was known to exist"

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
I agree. Not only did ozzie fumble the ball, he also threw a costly int. To make matters worse, ozzie also dropped a sure TD in the endzone as well as a sure 1st down on the last offensive play. And don't get me started on the assignments that ozzie missed when he was playing defense.

Even if he has gotten better and is good now, he was not good then.Every blue moon, getting cut helps motivate a player who could not otherwise work hard enough with their first few chances. see James Harrison.

Always liked DWill, thought he had potential. But you can only wait so long. He had trouble staying healthy and contributing during the actual season. We can alway blame the OC for some of that, I suppose. Might have been a better option than some we kept, sure as heck not by much. I hope does well, glad we're not still waiting for him to put a full season together.

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
Have you ever made a mistake at your job? Were you fired on the spot?
This would be like saying we should cut Joe Flacco if he throws an INT next week. Even if DWil becomes a decent player, I wouldn't fault him for releasing him last year. What did he do last year with the Browns?
Would you rather have him over TJ Housh? So worried about him becoming a playmaker when Cam couldn't get Donte Stallworth involved in the offense?Demetrius Williams signed with the Cleveland Browns on October 26, 2010. He was targeted twice in a loss to his old of team (the Ravens) but never had a catch through the entire season.
Seriously, this thread is a laugher. Guy had 3 catches for 32 yards in a preseason game, 21 yards on one catch. He's a 3rd stringer on the depth chart, making him the 5th or 6th WR.Last edited by RavenScallywag; 08-14-2011 at 07:14 AM.

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
Ernie Wheelwright had a couple of good pre-season games with the Ravens and he has gone away to relative obscurity. Having good games in pre-season means nothing.

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
Heres one for you , Do you remember Derek Anderson? The guy who had one great year and everyone was mad at the Ravens for letting him go . This should be the end answer to this thread.

Re: Demetrius Williams remember him?
On a related note, I saw Yamon Figurs scorch the Vikings secondary to catch Jake Locker's first preseason TD. He mush have had 5 yards of seperation on the CB.
Not every WR Oz drafted lacked ability, but you can only wait so long for them to become consistant and reliable.
