Re: Chris Johnson signs
It sounds like he got what he wanted. On one hand, I can understand a fans frustration with Johnson's methods, since it was reported that he turned down an offer from Tennessee that would make him 'thee' highest paid RB in the league. On the other hand, I can understand Johnson's approach. A RB's lifespan in the league is short and this is the last bit of money he is going to get. I mean, the man rushed for over 2,000 yards in a season and was only scheduled to make a little over a million dollars per year. The reality is that he is Tennessee's offense, which, to each his own, may make him more valuable than simply calling him a RB. Furthermore, Tennessee just drafted a quarterback in the first round and the only guy they have at quarterback that could hold his own is Matt Hasselbeck, who isn't long for retirement himself. Which means that Johnson is going to continue to be the entire offense for a good little while. If you are just going to look at a guy and say "You're just a RB", then don't make him your entire offense, which Johnson currently is.
