Ain't the Kool-Aid Cold Today
A few years ago, you used to be able to have an opinion on this board. Now if you critize Ozzie or the team, you get blasted. Not by the moderators, but by the other posters.
Well, I came to say that I think Torrey Smith looks like a true bust. Yeah, I don't care that's it's only 4 games in. You can just tell. He's not an NFL player. I think Ozzie totally and completely blew this one.
I'm sure someone will think I'm a Stooler fan now or something like that becuase I don't blindly follow everything Ozzie does. Oh well - go ahead and flame me now.

Re: Ain't the Kool-Aid Cold Today
He needs help with his confidence, the coaches won't be writing him off as a bust
He'll come good in time
Smith is no Jerry Rice, who is? So I'm not making a ridiculous comparison, it's just a relevant quoteIn 1985, breaking in as an NFL rookie, Rice admitted he was scared and dropped the ball more than usual. "I was thinking through every step of a complicated offense," he said, "instead of using natural reactions."
So even the best can struggle at the beginning

"The sky is falling! The sky is falling!"
It doesn't matter if Torrey Smith is a bust or not. Ozzie has repeatedly put together championship level teams, if you don't agree with that, you are deluded. Missing on a player here or there means nothing.
That being said, 4 preseason football games is not anywhere near enough time to tell. It may be your gut feeling, it may be my gut feeling, hell it could even be Harbaugh's gut feeling at this point, but the point is, there hasn't been enough time to make any determination, and even if he is a bust, that doesn't mean anything for this team- it doesn't affect our ability to win a championship this year, next year, or even the year after.

I don't think he deserves to be banned for having a ridiculous opinion.

Re: Ain't the Kool-Aid Cold Today
A rookie is a bust after the preseason??? Throw something at the wall and see if it sticks I guess.

I've seen it before, albeit they were Steelers fans. But I wouldn't mind idiocy from Ravens fans being sent to the trash heap a little quicker.

Re: Ain't the Kool-Aid Cold Today
Was your point of this thread to come up with something so stupid that poeple would say to ban you?
OR
That your point is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul

Re: Ain't the Kool-Aid Cold Today
Oh my God, you are such a little baby. *waaa waaa waaa* Before I make my point I'd like to preface it by saying if everyone thinks I'm an idiot, regardless of of the relative merits or idiocy of my comments, that it is obviously the board's fault. And if you do think my opinion is idiotic, I'll pretend that validates my conviction that the problem is the board and not my opinion. WA!
"A lot" is a two word expression denoting a great deal or greatly, as in "I like sunshine a lot." "Alot" is a lovable imaginary grammar monster. You can love a lot; you can love an alot; you can love alots a lot; but they are not the same thing.

Re: Ain't the Kool-Aid Cold Today
Dear forums poster Ravenfan_11,
I'm sorry you feel you get "blasted" for an opinion because people disagreed with you. It is COMPLETELY irrational for these harsh people to disagree with such a well thought out thread about a player who's had limited time in four preseason games. I mean, there's no way he recovers from this, right? Pretty much a death sentence at this point. A player who came out as a junior and has no concept of NFL offense at this point..man, there's just no way out. I am truly sorry for this obvious waste of a draft pick.
Best,
Sephy

Re: Ain't the Kool-Aid Cold Today
Okay, I won't blast you. You have the right to an opinion. But, for the sake of discussion:
You get to be GM, and you even get the benefit of seeing these guys throughout preseason. What would you have done instead with the 58th pick instead of selecting Torrey Smith? Keep in mind the Ravens' needs at the time.
You're on the clock - you have ten minutes.
