Week 4 - Rex vs Ravens - NYJ-BAL Game Thread

    Inactives for BAL:

WR/RS David Reed, CB Jimmy Smith, CB Chris Carr, S Haruki Nakamura, LB Dannell Ellerbe, G Ben Grubbs, WR Lee Evans

bad news. Carr down means razor thin CB. Ellerbe down too.

Good thing Mangold has just been reported as inactive. Ngata gonna have a field day.

Haruki being out makes it worse.

He was out there a lot on dime packages and multiple DB packages.

We knew about half of those from long term injuries...Jimmy, Nakamura, Reed...

Sadly, everyone who was game time decisions ended up out. While on their side, Cromartie will play as expected.

Gurode for Grubbs should be fine
Torrey for Lee will be okay, hopefully Tandon gets some choice plays against Kyle Wilson
McClain for Ellerbe...eh, we know how that one goes

The real worrying point for me is Carr out. We're trotting out Chykie Brown as the nickel, and probably Gorrer as the dime. That's some easy targets for Sanchez. The only plus is that our pass rush can lick it's chops a bit with Mangold down.

I almost wish we could recall Foxworth from IR.

Kindle active! That's awesome! Yeah the CB issue has me worried, they have to beat Sanchez down tonight and the offense has to show up, they have to...

That's a HUGE plus though. Mangold is the best C in the league and Ngata will be going up against an undrafted rookie FA. Sanchez is gonna make some plays but plenty of mistakes too.

I can't see us winning this game at all. Theres no way Gorrer and Chykie are going to be able to handle Mason.

Not to mention Holmes is going to give Webb fits and big WRs give Cary Williams fits (see Britt, Kenny) and he's going to be covering Plaxico.

We're going to have to rush the s**t out of the passer, or else there's no chance we win.

The fans at the stadium will help make things tough on Sanchez and the weak Jets oline and the Ravens front 7 will feed off the energy of the crowd.

The young guys stepped up on offense last week - need the young corners to step up this week.

Man I can't wait for this game - go Ravens

I ask that you please stop being a pessimist and realize that the game is here and not in New York, the crowd will be loud and Sanchez and the makeshift Jets OLine will have issues.

That's the attitude I like to see, playing at home will help the young corners.

Well shit...I might as well not even watch the game now, huh?

If the Ravens win this evening can you not post here anymore? You do this (or something like this) almost every single week.

Kindle in the all black, yeah! I'm happy for him and I'd like to see if they use him on pass rush situations. The pass rush is going to have a good night. The safeties will have to help out these CB's.

I hope this ends up being right. In fact, this is our best shot of not giving ourselves a headache. Everyone is saying this will be a tight game, but does it have to be? Against Steelers and Rams, we've proven we're not afraid to blow the lid off. ... Rush Sanchez and force what's underneath, then tackle. They will make plays, but so will we.

I think we can score on this defense, and with our situation at corner we may have to score quite a bit. I'm not pegging this for a low-scoring affair. I think it will be 24-18 Ravens, with our defense coming up big in the red zone.

Glad to hear Kindle is a go. Time to get that first NFL sack, son! Make it three!
