    Palmer to Raiders

Very close to happening according to Jay Glazer. The deal will be for a 2012 first rounder and an additional conditional pick.

Raiders could win the West this year.

    A first rounder?!?!

Wow. That's WAY too much for someone of Palmer's age.

Al is reaching out from the grave it would seem

That's a huge price to pay

Garrard is out there and is a very good QB, I thought they would go that direction

    Re: Palmer to Raiders

A good move... by the Bengals? or a bad move by the Raiders?

It's way too much for a player who hasn't played in like a year. I knew they were desperate, but depending on the conditional, cincy may have just gone to town on Oakland.

The Bengals could be quietly making sense.

Garrard said he is about to undergo back surgery for herniated disk so he took himself out of consideration

It's a first in 2012 and another pick that could become ANOTHER No. 1 depending upon how Palmer performs.

    Cincinnati just got stronger long-term...

The 2013 pick is a conditional - it can become a first rounder based on playtime, other incentives. Plus the 2012 first rounder

Raiders now do not have 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th round picks in 2012 but do expect decent compensatory picks back for Gallery/Asomugha

NO WAY I ever give up a 1st rounder for Palmer... especially since they don't have a 3rd this yr from the Pryor Supplemental p/u.
The Raiders haven't had a winning season in almost a decade. They've had huge problems selling tickets and are trying to get a new stadium. Finally they get fans supporting them as they win and their starting QB goes down.

This is bigger than just next years draft. The Raiders need to make the playoffs and keep up that fan support for the future of their franchise. I would agree with you if this was just a football decision but it's also a financial one.

Wow, I really hate this move from the Ravens perspective. That's a huge score for the Bengals. Doesn't anyone realize that Palmer has stunk for the last 2 years?

    Holy Jeebus.

What a great win for the Bungals and a colossally stupid move for the Raiders.

    Re: Palmer to Raiders

So if the Raiders give up a first round pick in 2012, they will be without a 1st, a 2nd, a 3rd AND a 4th* round pick in the upcoming draft?

Yeah, sure, they may win the AFCWest this year, but at what cost to the future?

*somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I could have sworn that I read yesterday that the Raiders had no 2nd, 3rd or 4th round pick in the upcoming draft.
"A lot" is a two word expression denoting a great deal or greatly, as in "I like sunshine a lot." "Alot" is a lovable imaginary grammar monster. You can love a lot; you can love an alot; you can love alots a lot; but they are not the same thing.

Lol. Two 1st rounders? That's a move Belichick would approve.

Has someone strapped Mike Brown to a chair?

I hate Mike Brown, but man he played this thing perfectly. If this trade were happening in fantasy football it would get vetoed by the league because it's so lopsided. If they don't screw up these picks they could be a force going forward.

Good thing for the Ravens is that the Bengals usually do screw up the 1st round. Later rounds though they have been pretty good.

Ah Mike Brown, the man who turned down two first round picks for Chad Johnson

Surely he won't turn this one down, it's incredible for the Bengals

  16. Re: Palmer to Raiders

If true, that sucks for the rest of the AFC N.

Another reason to continue hating the Raiders.

Palmer is ancient, plays scared. It will be fiunny seeing him trying to don the black and silver like a tough guy!

I guess Palmer now gets to play near his home in Cali...

    Re: Palmer to Raiders

The Bengals have a really good defense, AJ Green, Gresham, Jerome Simpson, tons of cap space, and now 2 1st round picks (and maybe 2 in 2013). They're arguably in better long-term shape than the Steelers. The only question is how Dalton looks when he play a decent defense.

    Re: Palmer to Raiders

What kind of football shape would Palmer even be in, not to mention he hasn't been effective in a couple of years.

Really bad move by the Raiders if it happens.

  20. Re: Palmer to Raiders

Cinci has a pretty decent young team now. Add a couple more first rounders and they could move up with us and the Steelers. Yes, they often make bad picks, but they also do pretty well building from the O and D lines up. Our division could become even tougher soon.
