Matt Schaub down for the count
Not for good, but apparently for potentially a few weeks.
Matt Schaub Will Miss Some Time
The Texans are basically atop of the AFC.
This could potentially hurt their chances of being one of the top seeds in the playoffs unless Leinhart can step up.
I don't root for guys to get hurt but it happens unfortunately and certainly becomes a part of how teams fair at the end.
Certainly good for us if we can get our heads out of our asses and maintain course without any more slip ups.

Looks like he's done for the year. Wow! The AFC is really there for the taking if the Ravens could remove their collective heads from their rectums.

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
Schaub isn't anything special. They will win with whoever they put under center with that running game and defense.

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
Sucks for them. And just when the talking heads were starting to add the Texans in the "best in the AFC?" conversation.
If they ever tell my story, let them say I walked with giants. Let them say I lived in the time of Ray Lewis, tamer of Running Backs. Let them say I lived in the time of Ed Reed.

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
I doubt Leinhart has the same success. Schaub can still make plays, which is better than someone like Leinhart paying in a "care taker" sort of capacity.
It remains to be seen if they let Leinhart try to play like Schaub, or if they scale down the passing attack. If they scale it down, that almost makes the Texans offense one-dimensional. If they become one-dimensional, the run will be easier to defend.
I just think Leinhart sucks.

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
Wow. They lost their 3 top players. That's like us losing Suggs, Flacco and Boldin. Devistating.

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
Any word on who they might bring in to back up or start over Leinhart?

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
Kubiak is praising Leinert and says he's ready to go. Sounds like they're planning for him to be the guy the rest of the season.
Heard someone on SiriusNFL point out that going from a righty to a lefty in that offense is not easy due to the blocking assignments, etc. all favoring a right hander. Not sure how much of a problem that will be but I suspect they're gonna run the ball a LOTWorld Domination 3 Points at a Time!

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
I kinda feel bad for Texans fans. Never made the playoffs before, and they're finally primed to make a run in a wide-open AFC, in a division where the perennial top dog is down for the count.....and they lose Schaub, Johnson, and Williams for extended periods of time. That's gotta be frustrating.
Also brings some bad news for the AFC North, as the Bengals still have to play these guys, and I was counting on Schaub and a healthy Johnson to give them a loss.

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
They will run the ball a lot. But they will become grossly one dimensional. The better defenses will commit to stopping Foster, and dare Leinhart to beat them - and he won't. They still have the Jags, Falcons, Bengals, Panthers, and Titans on their schedule. I believe they all have decent defenses.
At least this week is a Bye and they have a week to get Leinhart ready. If they ever tell my story, let them say I walked with giants. Let them say I lived in the time of Ray Lewis, tamer of Running Backs. Let them say I lived in the time of Ed Reed.

Re: Matt Schaub down for the count
There seem to be a bunch of one dimensional teams out there this year, including the Ravens. Every team has already committed to stopping the Texans running game since Johnson went out 7 weeks ago. The Ravens were really the only ones able to do it. Obviously this hurts but with that running game it's not nearly as bad as what some other teams are going through, like the Chiefs for example.
