    Red face Newbie heading to San Diego



    Any suggestions on what to see or do while in San Diego while counting the minutes down to SNF

    This should keep you busy:
    • Drive up I-5 about 50 miles -- you will likely see the jets from the NAS Miramar Top Gun School buzzing the highway -- at night, there's a reasonable chance of seeing pumas prancing across the highway (I saw a pair)
    • Old Town shops and Mexican food
    • La Jolla seafood restaurants on palisades overlooking the Pacific
    • Coronado beaches - make sure to see the "haunted" Hotel del Coronado:

    In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).
