McCourty, Gronk, Hernandez, Chung, Ridley, Solder, Spikes, Mayo, etc.

Those are all quality players that may not have been the "elite" athletes in their respective drafts.

    That's all I was saying.

I could see the Pats looking to take a player like Upshaw.

How about the Jets taking Barron, the Bills taking Coples and the Steelers taking Osemele. Upshaw falls close enough to the Ravens to move ahead of the Patriots, who might even take Branch.

Osemele could be a decent fit for the Steelers. The more I read about Hightower the less impressed I am. He sounds like a great run stuffer with a weakness in pass coverage - he's just too big and stiff to cover decently, making it quite likely he would be a 2-down LB.

Given the increasing reliance on passing in the league I'm not really sold on Hightower as a 1st round pick.

It would be nice if a fourth QB popped up in the first round.

I've been praying for that! Weeden or Cousins would be the guys but w/Weeden do you give up picks and pay 1st round money for a guy thats already in his prime? Is Cousins a first round talent? I like him but i dont think so....at the same token i didnt think Ponder was either but i think Ponder has more talent then Cousins. I think my higher hope now is Tannehill slids and some team early in the 2nd gets nervous and wants to get up to 29.

I would say Osweiler over Weedon.

Osweiler has a lot of hype behind him right now and compares a lot to Josh Freeman when you consider size, arm, and athletic ability.

I could totally see a team trading back up into the 1st round and reaching for Brock Osweiler.

Greg Childs really improved his stock at Arkansas' pro-day. At 6'3" and nearly 220lbs, Childs ran a 4.39 40-yard dash and looked a lot more comfortable in the WR drills.

Joe Adams, at 5'11" 180lbs, still didn't run a great 40-yard dash (mid to low 4.5's) when you consider his size, but he has great hands and runs good routes.

Good point...Osweiler is an interesting prospect, he moves really well for his size has a big arm and has been productive. The one thing i dont like about him is his red zone completion percentage this past year was 45 percent compared to the other top QB's who were in the 60's and i believe in Luck's case in the 70's. Teams will probe into that and see why that was the case but he's a good developmental QB, really wish he would have thrown at the combine, that would have really helped him because he has a cannon. I hope he does impress enough to get into first round consideration, Baltimore is rooting for you Osweiler! lol

Ah, it's like the children's song : "the wheels on the bus go round and round". Yes, being a Browns (or Indians fan for that matter) must really suck... Bc

I think it will be really telling when and if they DONT trade up for RGIII.

If Greg Childs could have stayed healthy, he would have been a first round guy. I have always been high on Greg Childs. I liked Childs more than Julio Jones.

Here's what my gut tells me the Browns do this offseason and i think it makes a ton of sense(I know a couple Browns fans that think this exact way). Colt Mccoy is a year removed from people thinking he was a capable QB and this team still doesnt have enough talent offensively. I think they could just continue building their talent level and not take a QB this year. Grab a guy like Blackmon or T-Rich at #4, work on the RT, and Guard positions and give Mccoy more to work with. If he doesnt make strides back in the right direction then you get into the Matt Barkley/Landry Jones sweepstakes next year. They have been bad for so long, whats one more year?

Wow! good for him!(Childs)...i think he's a good player....Adams i believe GOTA predicted would never really post a great 40 time but man is he quick!

What round is Childs projected to go in? I have been high on him since he was a sophomore, if I am not mistaken.

I don't think I posted about Adams before but he's someone I like a lot. Forget his 40 because it doesn't matter. This kid is a kick returner and playmaker. He's a physical receiver despite his small size. Very much a Wes Welker type.

Does anybody know whether Childs was dealing with an injury at the combine? His pro day numbers are light years better, just seems weird.

I know he had a pretty bad knee injury about a year ago.

    Re: Draft Prospects

I think if your going to go interior line in a high round, then Kevin Zeitler would be the best value. He can play guard and center, and is such a powerful run blocker, a very similar player to Marshall Yanda, a pure road grader. Zeitler played right guard all through college, but he has the brains to be a center too, and will provide us with a lot of versatilely since he could either fill our center or guard void. He is a second round projection, so it would give us the opportunity to go BPA in the first (hopefully Hightower or Upshaw.)
