i think so as well, if we could trade out oof the first get a 2nd and 3rd, early picks, we can get a WR in the second, a guy like ronnell lewis in the second, and with all the WRs being selected in the 2nd round, a talent could fall to the early third that not so long ago wouldnt have been there, a good Guard for example, or a pass rusher.

He just pushed himself up into the 2nd round.

With the way things are shaping up, I think the 2nd round is going to be chock full of WR's.

That would be a good plan if someone is looking to get into round 1. Given the lack of talent I just don't see too many teams willing to move up to round 1. What we need is QB that suddenly gets hot. Teams panic over quarterbacks and will jump up to draft them.

Now thats interesting. top 20 pick at a position were set and have depth. seems kind of like a waste of a visit unless theyre that far apart from Webb in negotiations.

Toon is one of the guys on my list too. His father was a super talent who had his career ended because of concussions. Nick looks a lot like Al. He catches everything and then can get some tough YAC. I have a feeling he's one of those guys that will be gone mid-2nd so we either have to move down from round 1 or up from the bottom of round 2.

They're only allowed so many visits. It does make you wonder if they a making a plan just in case Webb signs an offer sheet.

Hey wicked, last month I predicted the Ravens would get Hightower, Brewster, and Toon in the first 3 rounds. Still hope I'm right... Bc

Me too. I'd love Toon in a Ravens uni.

    5. Alshon Jeffrey

I think you are underestimating Juron Criner. I think he is probably around 7-8 on a lot of lists.

There are several mocks out there (of course they mean jack, but . . . ) that have Hill on the board at #29, and a few of them also have Wright there as well. If that is the case, I would hope the Ravens grab one of them and not take a chance on getting a WR in the 2nd round when the good ones could all be taken. If they went defense or o-line in the first round (I saw one mock that had both Nick Perry and Reilly Reiff available at 29 - I wish) I wouldn't mind seeing a guy like Criner, Marvin Jones, Toon or Givens being chosen later.

I'd like to see the Ravens use a late round pick on Ben Heenan, Guard/Tackle University of Saskatchewan. I saw him play in the East/West shrine game (i think), and he was a real bulldozer. He's listed as the number 1 draft prospect for the CFL draft, so I fugure he might take a 4th round pick. Remember you heard it here first.

He'd be an interesting pick up.

I also like Matt McCants out of UAB.

Yea that seems to make sense. I also think that moving forward the Ravens are looking at the fact that they are unlikely to resign both Webb and Carey Williams based on the going price of a CB in this league. Dre Kirkpatrick is a pretty talented corner and while not an obvious position of need for this team I am not sure there is such a thing as to many good CB in a league which is so pass happy. It makes sense they would bring him in for a look.

We already got Jimmy Smith, who we used a first pick on last year, I don't get why they would consider drafting another first round CB tbh, but BPA I guess, plus he's an Alabama guy.

Might be a candidate to move to FS.

If Dre Kirkpatrick is sitting there at 29 you have to at least consider it especially if he is the BPA on your board. The kid can play and like Jimmy Smith has been devalued for some character issues. Smith has shown no signs of issues regarding "character" since the draft so I will defer to the Ravens judgement after talking to the kid as to if his issues are enough of a red flag to not consider him. CB is a position that you really cant have enough talent at in todays pass happy NFL. When you consider both Webb and Carey Williams are coming up and odds are your gonna lose one (my guess Williams) there is a potential need there down the road even if your sold on Gorrer.

Good article on a sleeper guard...

Brandon Brooks, Miami of Ohio (6'5" 340lbs).

I like him, this is a really deep guard class, the Ravens are in luck at that area. I think there are guys in the 3rd and even the 4th round who have the potential to not just be starters but very good ones in time.
