Re: Draft Prospects
Pretty sure you can bet the farm that Konz, Or Brewster or Jones will be drafted, along with prob another OG in the mid rounds or even earlier. I was just pointing out that those are what we currently have on the roster. And than again the Squeelers made the SB with worst names than that starting for them. Just playing devils advocate here

Re: Draft Prospects
Out of all the centers, Blake or Konz would be my choice. Brewster is a big guy and he's athletic, but he doesn't have that nature about him to play center. Ben Jones is very soft (physically).
If they get Brandon Brooks in this draft, I'd be stoked. That's the guard I REALLY want to see in a Ravens uniform. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Re: Draft Prospects
The Steelers have a QB that can withstand hits, other QBs can't withstand, and break tackles that other QBs can't break. That's why they can get away with it.

Re: Draft Prospects
That's not THAT surprising. Hill has a HUGE upside, and he's more pro-ready than Demaryius Thomas when he came out. Even if Hill is just going to be a part-time player running nothing but go routes on the outside, he totally changes the way teams defend the Ravens' offense.
Of those 3, I'd take Hill as well. The problem is that Hill could go as high as 22. Is he going to last to 29? I'm not sure at all.

Re: Draft Prospects
I have been saying forever and a day that if Hill is at 29 they will take him no questions asked. They can get some really decent interior line help in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th rounds. A physical freak like Hill does not come around often. He has the size, speed, attitude and hands to be a monster in the NFL. Honestly if he played at a school were the ball got thrown around some, I have no doubt he would be the first receiver off the board. This is an immensely talented kid who was in a system that did not show off that talent to its fullest but still did well despite that.
The NFL is all about passing now. Guys who either throw the ball, catch it or defend the pass or rush the passer are now at a premium. Gaurds, Centers, RB unless extremely gifted like a Trent Richardson or a DeCastro are all gonna slide back a little as a result of that especially in the first couple rounds. Unless your stacked and packed with playmakers on offense (which the Ravens are not) then you are wise to not pass up one that has the potential to be really really good. Its just the modern NFL“A linebacker's job is to knock out running backs, to knock out receivers, to chase the football,”

Re: Draft Prospects
I would say of those 3 Konz is probably the safest pick, but Hill definitely has the most upside out of Konz & Hightower.

Re: Draft Prospects
I think the Browns at 22, Denver at 25 and Houston at 26 are the most likely people to draft him ahead of us. Browns may QB assuming they don't act like their usual dumb selves and take Tannehill at 4. Even if they dont go QB they could go OLine. Kendal Wright would seem to be a better complement to Thomas imo so that leaves me thinking that Houston would be the biggest threat.
I would not be shocked to see them try to move ahead of the Texans if they think Hill could be their guy. To move from 29 to 20 would cost roughly 160 pts or a 3rd and 4th round pick though in this draft it might be a little less. Not sure they wanna give up even the 3rd and 5th round picks to make that happen. Moving from 29 to 25 would like cost 80 pts like a 4th round pick and that I could see them doing if they really like Hill or even another guy that much.“A linebacker's job is to knock out running backs, to knock out receivers, to chase the football,”

Re: Draft Prospects
I think that's my point. Just because there is a perceived greater need on the Oline, it doesn't mean the Ravens are going to draft Konz (or any other guard/center) with their first pick. They won't reach. If they think a WR is the best value guy, they'll take the WR and it won't be a wasted pick. As fans, we get way too caught up with "but they need a <fill in the blank> . . . ". Yes, the Ravens are probably targeting some Oline, but that doesn't mean they "have to" get one with one of the first two picks.

Re: Draft Prospects
Hill would be ruined for life if he went to Cleveland LOL, Houston would be scary good if they drafted Hill and paired him up with the Manchild (Andre Johnson). The Ravens aren't going to move up too high to get Hill, like you said if it's within 3 or 4 spots up they will strongly consider it.
