    Re: Purple Camouflage

Ravens fans look good regardless of what they wear, as long is its the team colors. I think a lot of people wear them because they are cargo pants and have lots of pockets in them for cell phones, money, etc. I don't think you can make sweeping statements about people on game day, just because they wear camos or other gear.

    Re: Purple Camouflage

I know I'm late, but I didn't realize there was a dress code to go to football games...

Who da hell cares if it's tacky or not???? Some folks have "football attire", they are going to a game to drink, hang out with friends and watch their favorite football team. Why the hell would you care if you are up-to-date with this season's fashions???

I swear, some of you folks kill me, if you don't like them don't wear them. People who do, however, feel like they show Ravens Pride, if you guys are Ravens fans why question that????
    Waiting for the next one!!!

Neither did a lot of other people and that seems to be why a lot of people responded to this.

I dont know if you were late or if you didn't read through this entirely but the basics of this thread was how did this fashion trend start. Nobody was questioning anyone ravens pride for wearing silly camo pants.

    That's just a silly statement.

So, if you don't wear the Camos, then you aren't a serious fan?

Personally, I think they look rediculous, but to each his own.

Won't knock someone for being a fan like me though...we are on the same team.

Read the enitre thread, know how it started, but the thread took a left turn somewhere.

    Yeah, right!

  8. Re: Purple Camouflage

Purple camo pants not being "ravens related" is like saying a purple plain sweatshirt isnt ravens related. As long as you are wearing team colors it doesnt matter if its an official jersey. Just wear the team colors.

Its better then the ones that come to the game not wearing one purple, or wearing a terps or orioles shirt..come on by at least one ravens piee of clothing!

I personally think they are cool and a bit silly. I do get comments at every away game, and like someone else said the "chicks dig them!" In Houston a girl told me, you dont know what id do for those pants. haha In detriot they just asked " what purple forest are you hiding in?" I just like sporting my colors, and one benefit is you can get a 6 pack or more in with all the pockets they have!

Ive only seen red ones in tampa last year, and i think ive seen them at another stadium, but definitly alot more Ravens fans wear them in Baltimore.

I mean even the ravens website put up the purple camo background during the playoffs last year.

Hogwash! You sure did put alot of thought into this considering your first response. Plus you were going on and on about what a great subject this was. Now you're saying it took a left turn at the orginal post...admit it you liked the subject.

I do like the subject. Fashion, rookies (most who will be forgetten), sports programming, Comcast - in late June, WTF else is there to talk about, anyway?

I just disagreed with your sweeping generalization, i.e. "those that do wear them seem to be very rowdy and loud". Most Ravens fans I know wear camos. No one I know is rowdy & loud. The rowdy & loud ones are somewhere else -- and they probably don't wear camos.

btw: Why don't you just admit that you were wrong?

True you dont have to wear those clothes to be rowdy and loud. There are pictures floating around of a certain poster who you sell tickets to in lot j pretending to wipe his ass with a terrible towel (or whatever they call them) and then set it a Blaze. Maybe he wasnt wearing purple camo pants but he sure as hell was drunk and rowdy. Admit it that was your friend making it hard for the good people of baltimore to say they are from baltimore.

btw: Why don't you just admit that you were wrong?
I said it was my opinion. Funny how you left that part out.

    However...

I will be taking pictures this year of people in their purple camos and posting it in this thread to show everyone what Im talking about. Then we'll have some data to go on. I wish I had the picture of this guy in his ravens fatigues getting arrested at Fedex, that was a sight.

Sheesh, nice stereotyping. This really has turned into a dumb topic.

Are you also going to take pictures of all the people who are wearing Camos who aren't drunk and unruly? Conversely, are you going to take pictures of all of the drunks who are wearing something other than Camos?

I've seen plenty of unruly and drunk Ravens fans at the Stadium over the years - and they weren't wearing Camos. I don't wear Camos, but drunkenness and unruly behavior simply have NOTHING to do with what people are wearing.

I do have a copy of a photo of this incident. Smurf was wearing black shorts and a purple Natty Boh teeshirt. Should we now stop steaming crabs in Natty Boh because of this?

I don't know if he was drunk & rowdy -- because I missed that game (the only reg season game I have missed in 11 seasons).

Given the way that the 'Yins like to taunt Ravens fans with those yellow rags, I believe that Smurf's actions, while "slightly" on the crude side, were an appropriate response to the yellow rag taunting.

I will admit only that Smurf was my friend -- although I haven't seen him in a couple years.

I disagree with the latter statement. If yellow rags can be waved in our faces by the in-breds to try to provoke violence, then towel-burning is an appropriate response -- whether or not wearing camos!

No its a good topic. Some posters cant seem to look past my opinion. So what I took a small jab but some posters feel they have to vindicate themselves.

I agree. My biggest complaint is the free flowing beer that runs through those lots. I wish there was a way to stop that. Heck wear purple make up if you want, I dont give a shit.

No but we should stop him from wearing any shirt with markings when he is doing something so foul and on film.

Maybe it's a good topic, but you were painting with a broad brush with your "small jab" and IMO your stereotyping was insulting and just plain wrong.

Well, that's fine, but that wasn't what this topic first appeared to be.

And, again, it has nothing to do with what people are wearing, so much of your initial premise - and your insistence on only photographing those drunks in Camos as if that would somehow prove your point - is misplaced.

You could try starting a movement to reinstate the Amendment XVIII to the Constitution of the United States of America. That "worked" in 1919.

    I don't wear the camo.

I think it's ugly. I know people who do who don't have a drop of alcohol at the tailgate or the game.

I enjoy having beers at the tailgate. I work hard everyday and it's my time to relax with friends.

I really don't understand the point of this thread.

Right and neither was my small jab. I wrote much more about this but some are focusing more on the most obscure reference in the OP. and thats ok, its kind of fun. Plus now I'm going to post pictures of people in those girly man pants.

That was a good law. I think it would of been great to hang out in a speak easy. At least you knew the people were going to be drunk there, instead of at a tailgate where everyone is sucking em down and acting crazy.
