    Browns fans discussions

I'm in Columbus this week and there are Browns fans all over. In a meeting today with quite a few and during lunch the conversation got around to football.

I tried to encourage them about Holmgren, building something, gonna take time but I'm sure you're get there, they play tough at home ... etc.

Wow. Not a one of them has any hope of things ever changing. (Oriole fans can relate). I was pretty surprised that as positive as I tried to sound the more they weren't having any of it

Think about how it must be - Sure makes me appreciate the Ravens

I lived for two years on the corner of King and Michigan, right off campus.

The Browns have just made so many front office errors in the last 5 years that it has to be agonizing for Cleveland football fans.

However, having said that, there are some reasons for positivity with that franchise:

Joe Thomas is the best O-lineman in football in my opinion and has plenty of good years ahead of him.

    Alex Mack is a nice-looking center. He's only 26.

Outside of Patrick Peterson, Vontae Davis, and Darrell Revis, I'm not sure there is a CB I wouldn't trade even up for Joe Haden. He's only 22 and one of the best around.

The top 3 picks of their 2011 Draft look great too:

Phil Taylor has been as good as any defensive rookie out there this year.

Jabaal Sheard is the real deal.

Greg Little has shown an ability to get open, but has had drop issues. Regardless, he's still going to catch roughly 60 balls this year.

On the downside, they have Tony Pashos and Oneil Cousins on the same O-line. Pashos has to be the worst starting RT in the NFL. I line up Suggs on his side all day long on Sunday. He is dreadful at pass protecting.

The problem for the Browns is that Colt McCoy is just good enough that they'll pass on a QB in the 1st round this year when there are 4-5 good guys coming out. Similar to the corner the Bills painted themselves into with Fitzpatrick.

I feel bad for Orioles fans everywhere, whatever team they root for. Being a fan shouldn't mean perpetual despair.

biggest front office error in recent history has got to be not only passing on Haloti Ngata, but allowing a division rival draft him. That kinda blunder should cost anyone their job.

i hope the curse of "the art" lasts longer then "the curse of the bambino".

ed debartilo jr is an owner who made the cut on the latest pro football HOF ballot. this is an insult to Art Model who has done so much for the game of football.

To this day I think Phil was sent there to sabotage that team. Nobody goes from that good to that bad that fast. Bet he got a lot of money from Bisciotti under the table!

Anyone who is an Oriole fan knows exactly the hopelessness they feel. It sucks.

BUT, they are some of the biggest P.O.S. fans to walk the earth, so f^& them.
