No offense to those who oppose Tebow in the Pro Bowl, but I am shaking my head in disbelief.

Tebow's success is the most exciting non-Ravens story of the 2011 NFL season. I can't understand why any NFL fan would not share the interest of what he is accomplishing. Of course he deserves to be a Pro-Bowl QB (assuming that his magic continues).

Were any of you around when athletic NFL QBs made the game more exciting than it is today by using hips, legs, and physical strengths & moves -- not just their arms? Staubach, Tarkenton, Young, McNair, Vick. Tebow has the potential to be join the club of the greatest running QBs of my lifetime: Randall Cunningham and Greg Landry (who repeatedly called his own number).
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

There are five games left this season. The four wins by Tebow have been against 4 teams that are 15th, 25th, 26th, and 27th defenses against the run. Certainly his success, or at least the success of the Broncos with him, has been a big surprise.

His next 3 games are against run defenses ranked 8th, 9th and 11th in the league.

Resume this thread in three weeks and see how Tebow for Pro Bowl QB looks. NFL defenses are not going to continue to get beat by a read option offense especially teams that can play the run.

Tebow is certainly an inspiring story and I am pulling for him, but the stats bear out that it is the defense more than the offense that has stepped it up:

    pre-Tebow: 1-4, offense 21.0 pts/game, defense 28.0 pts/game
    Tebow-era: 5-1, offense 19.3 pts/game, defense 20.5 pts/game

So, the defense is essentially giving up a touchdown less per game while the offense is scoring at about the same rate. I realize that statistics don't always tell the whole story, but that story has to include the resurgence of the Bronco defense.

The players and coaches still have to weigh in. That's only the fan vote. But still if Tebow gets in, it will only solidify what a joke the Pro Bowl has become.

He did pretty well today when Minnesota designed a defense to force him to throw. Efficient and nearly flawless. Stunning, really. His QB rating was over 148, I believe.

Today's game between the Broncos and Vikings was exciting, so I found. That, I must confess.

the D and punt return won this game but TT will get the credit and he certainly deserves a lot of it. it's a slippery slope though that his teammates get no notice

The D was having problems with the Vikings all day. Tebow certainly helped in the win and it was a team effort. He's always the first guy to say that after every game. It's the media and haters that make it into the Tebow show. All he does is win though!

I see nothing special about Tebow. He barely throws the ball averaging less than 20 throws per game. His completion average is less than 50%. The only thing he seems to do well is run the ball.

He has run the ball 82 times and so has Ricky Williams and Pierre Thomas and Tebow has more yards than either one of them and a better average yardage wise.

Of course Denver is excited by him, they only won 4 games last season and he has somehow energized the team. Everyone knows his accuracy is for shit and his best option is to run the ball. Once he runs into some teams with a good all around defense then whats he going to do?

Re: Things Wrong With The World: Tim Tebow on verge of Pro Bowl

As much as I don't see Tebow's style succeeding long term, he might actually even deserve the third pro bowl spot if he keeps this up. Nobody ever said the QB pro bowl spot had to be occupied by someone who was putting up good numbers necessarily just someone who was playing well. And he's leading his team to improbable wins, albeit in a way that isn't typical for qbs (through the spread). And his numbers are ugly but not awful - low completion percentage and yards, but his TD-int ratio is 10-1 I believe, which isn't bad at all for 7 games played. Who else in the AFC really deserves it over him besides Brady and Ben (and maybe Dalton)?

I wouldn't want Tim Tebow on my football team. All he does is win football games.

SO let's see, Tebow gets to play and takes his team to the Division lead but he should not go to the pro bowl because he didn't do it the way the fantasy football crowd likes it?

Ridiculous. The man is a player.

He should not go to the Pro-Bowl over Joe Flacco. I would make Tebow a first alternate. As for Sunday's game, other than a really bad decision by Ponder at the end of an otherwise well played game on his part, The Broncos defense could not stop the Vikings. Actually, the guy who got the interception was getting picked on all day. This was about McGahee, Tebow and Thomas.

I am starting to believe in Tebow. Whatever that means. I would say Tebow is a Pro Bowl alternate at this point. No way he gets in over Brady, Ben or Flacco.

I don't care if he goes to the Pro Bowl. I thought I saw somewhere that Michael Oher was doing well among RTs.

    Who cares? It's name recognition.

If he wins, fine, if he doesn't, fine. The story of the Broncos is their defense, of course, and not a quarterback whose career record for passing yards is now 202. But I don't care if he goes to the Pro Bowl.

In case you have been missing pretty much every highlight tape, its like having a Mike Alstott that can throw for 200.
