Punched in the Mouth
Let's face it, every year we look for somebody from the AFC North to punch the Steelers in the mouth. Congrats, Ravens.

That was a pathetic performance. I'm more than a little irritated.

Re: Punched in the Mouth
I turned that turd of a game off at halftime after that fairly straightforward block-in-the-back no-call on the punt return TD. If you guys can't beat Houston's third-string QB next week, do us a favor and pack it in for Week 17.

Re: Punched in the Mouth
It really irks me that no one else can figure out how to beat the Steelers. Everyone is gearing up to ride their jock strap again. Our old pal Jamison Hensley wrote in the AFC North blog about how the Steelers are the most complete team in the AFC, even though they aren't leading the division, no one wants to see them in the playoffs. Basically one big oozefest over Steelers being ready for a run. It kills me we need to win out basically to use that sweep over them to an advantage.

Re: Punched in the Mouth
They looked like the Bengals from last year.
Other than a few passes to AJ Green they couldn't move the ball on offense and they couldn't stop Mendenhall.
They quit after the 1st half. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Tate killed their momentum a la David Reed vs. Seattle.

Re: Punched in the Mouth
Man if I wanted to bengals to route the steelers so bad it pissed me off to see them fold like a lawn chair yesterday, how they gonna play us tough then take a huge shit like that on Sunday? And the lovefest for the steelers have returned in the media again its almost sickenning.
"It's like a rerun ... Everybody knows how this story ends, with us and the Steelers. It's about time we changed it, and give people something new. Right now, it's kind of like we pride ourselves on being a bully, but they're the ones that keep knocking us out of the playoffs. So they're the bully. One day you just got to say '[screw] it' and punch the bully totally in his mouth. Then they won't bully you any more." T-Sizzle

Re: Punched in the Mouth
You know why the national media is all over Pittsburgh?
Because they've done it before. They've been to Super Bowls in the last five years. The Ravens haven't.
While the Ravens are the better team (shouldn't a sweep make that debate easy) it will mean very little if they don't get past Pittsburgh in the playoffs.Go to:

Re: Punched in the Mouth
The Bengals let the zebras take them out of the game early, and then compounded that with a lot of mistakes. If I were the Bengals I would roll over week 16 for revenge......

Re: Punched in the Mouth
I'd rather the Steelers get the media love. We generally underperform when we're playing that role.

Re: Punched in the Mouth
The Bengals were playing way over their heads. Everyone expected a drop-off which is why no one gave them any respect. Happens with some teams every year. 2011 Lions are a good example. Remember that year the Broncos were 6-0 with mighty Kyle Orton looking like an MVP? They came into Baltimore, got whooped, and sucked the rest of the season.

Re: Punched in the Mouth
Now that the Bengals have reached the meat of their schedule, reality has set in like a sledgehammer.
The future seems bright for them though with the pieces they have in place.
Probably should have fired Marv a while ago though.

Re: Punched in the Mouth
I was saying all along that they would be exposed once they played us and Pittsburgh. They're clearly the 3rd best team in the division, but that still may be good enough to make them a playoff team this year. Next year with some good moves, they might be ready to give the yinzers and us some serious heartburn. Dalton is going to be a good one, I think.
