Cory Redding!
What no love for big 93?? That dude was playing like a man possessed today.
BTW i know its probably gonna come down to him or JJ, who stays or goes next season.
I'm in the Redding camp right now, I love JJ man, its gonna hurt my feelings if he has to go. I have a Feeling someone will blow a ton of money on JJ. If they don't, then KEEP HIM!
But props to Redding man.Lardarius "The predator" Webb

Re: Cory Redding!
as i was saying in the top fa thread, Redding is having his best year as a raven, arguably in his career, i would like them both back on a 2 yr deal, cheaply of course, but if i have to pick one, it will be redding.. i like our d line rotation and i hope we still have it next year, let mcphee shine in a pass rush capacity for a few years

Re: Cory Redding!
Johnson has been helped, because he has not been asked to take as many snaps as in the previous two seasons. That has kept him relatively healthy and fresh overall. Still, I am not sure who I would choose between the two, because Johnson does such a great job of diagnosing plays.

Re: Cory Redding!
Redding came here and told Ray he wanted to be a leader and lead by example. He certainly has done that. He's playing very well. This D line reminds me of the '06 team and Redding is having a similar impact to the one Justin Bannon did that year before he was hurt. Great pick-up by Ozzie.

Re: Cory Redding!
I don't think Mcphee would be the replacement for Redding next year if he leaves. I think It would be Arthur Jones. He had a great preseason this year and was pushing Redding for the starting spot out of camp.
I think Mcphee is a year away from being a starter. He is great rushing the passer but needs work stopping the run.
Kruger should be ready to step into a starter roll next year if JJ doesnt resign cheap.

Re: Cory Redding!
I'd take JJ coming back over Redding, I'd feel fairly comfortable going into next season with Ngata/Cody/McPhee/Jones/McKinney (plus one other guy, a cheap FA or rookie). Redding's been very good this year but he's fairly easily replaced/replicated, whereas behind JJ there's Kindle and McClellan. No idea about the rest of you but that doesn't sit easy with me, so assuming there's a decent deal available (with no big-money offer from Rex to match) I'd resign JJ.

Re: Cory Redding!
I don't think McKinney is coming back
He was very good last year and I put him down as an underrated player who'd have an even better season this year
Hasn't happened at all
They may well spend a late round draft pick or sign a cheap FA to replace McKinney

Don't forget Kindle. He was activated and saw some action. If he
can play he will be better than anyone from the edge.Pic of a natural act.

Re: Cory Redding!
I'd love to see Redding stick around on a 2-3 year extension. He deserves it.
I think when Ozzie signed him he had no idea that Redding would be this good of a player. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Re: Cory Redding!
dont anybody be sleeping on mcadoo who we stashed on ir. this dude could be awesome! i said 5 weeks ago on here that cory redding could be in the hunt for defensive mvp. suggs is getting all the pub but redding has been there every game. others have gone a game or two where they weren't noticed but his guy has brought it every game! but its a numbers and money game and as a veteran with several years we may not have the cash.

Re: Cory Redding!
It's hard to look good up in Detroit prior to Schwartz coming in. Redding is a very very solid player. He plays smart, and is a good influence on the younger guys. In the preseason, you could see him really coaching guys up on the sideline. Great veteran presence to have on your team. This is a fantastic corp group.

Re: Cory Redding!
This is a snippet from a suns article, and i think it sums up the JJ vs Redding discussion...
Apologies to Jarret Johnson, but Cory Redding has become the Ravens' most underrated defender.
It's hard to explain just how good Redding has become with the Ravens, in part because he doesn't post a lot of big numbers. He has 4.5 sacks this year, which doesn't seem like much, even though it's already the second highest total of his career. (He had 8.0 sacks in 2006 with the Lions.) But if you understand what's required of a defensive end in the Ravens' 3-4 defense, you'll begin see how important he's been.
Redding's initial read is almost never up the field, which is one reason why it's so hard to run against Baltimore. He doesn't take himself out of plays by design. He holds his ground, then tries to collapse the pocket with a combination of size and strength. Back when he played for Detroit, he had a lot more freedom to come off the edge and simply chase the quarterback, but with the Ravens, he's done a lot of dirty work, embraced his new role, and become a crucial part of a defense that's probably the best in the NFL. It's almost hard to believe Redding had never been the playoffs in his career before last season.
“We’re just getting better, man," Redding said. "We’re just getting better at the right time, and we’re making a real strong push for this playoff position. And we’re just getting in the mix and fight for this trophy. We all know what we’re playing for, and we have something special here, so it’s all about getting better each week.”Lardarius "The predator" Webb

Re: Cory Redding!
If you pick one, I say you go with JJ but I am not sure the wisdom is signing either to anything substantial, given their age and depth at the position.
Love Redding as a Longhorns fan and there is no denying his talent but JJ has been the most consistent and is a year younger.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence.
