Conspiracy or not, neither team was able to sneak in touchdowns during the darkness. They were equally disadvantaged.

The Steelers year-end fade has a lot more to due with the age of its players than the San Francisco lighting. I won't be shocked to see them lose to the Browns next week; hopefully, that won't be necessary, but the Ravens at Bengals is scary.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

When Ray goes to Canton, I'm going too.

It's nothing to do with winning or losing or the officals.

It was to do with the new stadium plans and ensuring SF get a large contribution from the league

Yes because I'm sure they planned to cut the power on a stadium full of people.

    Year end fade?

How is losing one game in the last two months a "year end fade?"

Good point. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking.

And isn't he their union rep etc???Perfect. He was very vocal during the lock out. What a jackass, I am sure Mendenhall (sp?) backs him up on this conspiracy.

But Steve Young and the rest of the ESPN "experts" said the outages would hurt the 49ers more. Who more of an idiot? The ESPN "experts" or Ryan Clark?

Statements like that indicate to me that Ryan Clark is showing concussion or concussion-like symptoms. Must be from all that headhunting.

    Re: conspiracy?

Clearly no one actually read the article. Clark wasn't talking about it being a disadvantage for the Steelers, he was accusing the San Fran government of using it as a way to showcase to the NFL that they need a new stadium.

    Re: conspiracy?

Clark should worry more about not getting suspended for all those illegal hits. He attempted a blatant helmet-to-helmet spear against a SF player laying on the ground on Monday night, but missed the other player.

I did, & it's not all that farfetched a notion. Remember, the NFL is like the Catholic Church: If you want to know what's really going on, follow the money. Screw around with their #1 ca$h cow--the TV contracts--& you will get the league's undivided attention instantamundo.

Now I really don't think there was any conspiracy afoot--but I also think it accidentally worked out beautifully for the stadium proponents...

    Re: conspiracy?

I lived in San Francisco for a time and the city and the Niners had, at best, a tepid relationship.

This had nothing to do with the new stadium. The Santa Clara stadium deal is done and they are already selling PSL's to the new complex. What the power outages show is the cities lack of providing the team with any sort of infrastructure -- a long complaint of the Niners ownership group.

BTW, not a very Ravens-related topic. Moving thread to it's proper forum.
