Re: Playoff Predictions
True. In my head I have the 49ers over the Saints as an upset, though in terms of seeds it wouldn't be. And I think New England beating Pittsburgh is a pseudo-upset (compared to how a lot of people would pick).
In terms of this weekend. I could see Cincy winning, but really think the fact that it is the Texans first playoff game will pull them through. I also could see Atlanta beating the Giants, but the Giants are hot themselves, at home, and big-game tested. I really cannot see Denver winning (and I am aware of the arguments for the possibilty, I just can't get on board). Nor can I see Detroit beating the Saints (after watching Matt Flynn light them up).

Re: Playoff Predictions
Too many wacky and inconsistent teams, too many teams that elevate their play in pressure situations, too many pass happy teams with shitty defenses playing in January weather. I predict a bit of an unpredictable playoffs. I got Giants and Ravens in the big game.

I like a lot of the Giants picks. That's a very good dark horse pick, TBH.

NFL CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS
AFC: 3:00 PM: Pittsburgh 14, Baltimore 24.
NFC: 6:30 PM: Atlanta 35, Green Bay 31.
SUPERBOWL XLVI
AFC VS NFC: 7:00PM: Atlanta 28, Baltimore 34 (OT)
I agree on the possibility of the dark horse making a run. Even the AFC is more open, the NFC is more likely to see one. What with the sometimes weird season this year, it'd only be fitting to have a strange playoffs.
The dark horse recently has been very opaque, though. The Cardinals’ run was a total shock. The Giants and Packers’ runs were not as out of left field, but expectations of them screwing up somewhere was there.
Some of that is just for a different slant, be shocked to see the Falcons make a run, though they've the tools for it (more than the Giants, Falcons have 12th ranked D, believe it or not). Just there's been so many teams making a run from wildcards recently, though all cold weather teams - only a matter of time before a dome team does it (Cardinals did it 2/3 the way). If not the Falcons, then the Saints – a feeling the Packers’ll fall at the conference championship by a team that can run the ball (falling like the last two 15-1 teams).

Re: Playoff Predictions
Atlanta over GB or NO? LOL! The Saints just ripped the Falcons a new bunghole less than a month ago. That ain't happening.
I''l go with
CIN over HOU
PIT over DEN
NYG over ATL
NO over DET
Round 2
BAL over PIT
NE over CIN
GB over NYG
NO over SF
Champ round
NO over GB
NE over BAL (sniffles)
SB
NO over NE
Something about the way the Saints have played down the stretch.. Unbelievable passing game coupled with a halfway decent defense.. Playing at a high level for the last few weeks.. I think it will carry them through to the big game.

Re: Playoff Predictions
If the Giants and Ravens meet in the Super Bowl, wouldn't this be the third time that a New York team and Baltimore team meet in the Super Bowl?

People come to realize you can STILL win a super bowl if you can control the football and play at a high level on defense.
